N.J. Week 6 POWERADE baseball rankings

After games on Saturday, May 12

Two new teams enter the top 10 this week, in part thanks to a tough stretch for St. Joseph (Mont.), which has lost three of its last five games. One squad to take advantage was Hunterdon Central. The Red Devils downed High Point and Phillipsburg with junior Jeremy Ake smashing three home runs, a double, a triple, six RBIs and stealing three bases last week.

Don Bosco Prep remains atop the rankings after tacking two more wins onto its record. The Ironmen moved up a spot to No. 43 in the POWERADE FAB 50.

Here are this week's rankings (last week's rankings in parentheses):

1. Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey) 18-3 (1)

Ironmen have hit their stride, tacking on wins against DePaul and Dumont.

2. Gloucester Catholic 17-3 (2)

Rams bounced back from loss to Don Bosco by beating Glassboro and Deptford by a combined count of 18-1.

3. Jackson 17-2 (5)

Beat Barnegat and Toms River North last week.
