Northern Virginia is beginning to flex its muscle in the local rankings, with five teams occupying spots in the top 10. Lake Braddock and Oakton lead the way, checking in at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. Preseason No. 1 James Madison, last year's Class AAA runner-up South County along with McLean are the three other VA powers. Oakton is new to the mix and is off to a stellar start at 5-1 thus far. Expect the squad to put some heat on top-ranked Lake Braddock over the next few weeks.
