The Charlotte Hornets open training camp with a 19-man roster. Out of this group, 13 players have full salary protection for the 2016-17 season, while three have partial guarantees and three were signed to non-guaranteed deals. Here is the breakdown:

Full Salary Protection: Nicolas Batum, Marco Belinelli, Spencer Hawes, Roy Hibbert, Frank Kaminsky , Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Jeremy Lamb, Brian Roberts, Ramon Sessions, Kemba Walker, Marvin Williams, Christian Wood, Cody Zeller

Partial Salary Protection: Treveon Graham, Aaron Harrison, Mike Tobey

No Salary Protection: Andrew Andrews, Perry Ellis, Rasheed Sulaimon

Roster Outlook: The 13 players with fully guaranteed salaries will make the regular season opening night roster in late October and the final two spots should go to Graham and Harrison. Tobey, Andrews and Sulaimon will probably be released late in the preseason, so the players can be designated to the Hornets' D-League team, the Greensboro Swarm. The Hornets will likely send Graham and Harrison to the Swarm at various times during the season to get the two players some needed game time on the floor.

2016-17 Salary Cap Outlook: The Hornets will likely begin the regular season about $5.6 million over the salary cap and $12.9 million below the luxury tax line.
