The Washington Wizards open training camp with an 18-man roster. Out of this group, 12 players have full salary protection for the 2016-17 season, while four have some guaranteed money and two have non-guaranteed deals. Here is the breakdown:

Full Salary Protection: Bradley Beal, Trey Burke, Marcin Gortat, Ian Mahinmi, Markieff Morris, Andrew Nicholson, Kelly Oubre Jr., Otto Porter, Tomas Satoransky, Jason Smith, Marcus Thornton and John Wall

Partial Salary Protection: Jarell Eddie, Danuel House, Sheldon McClellan and Daniel Ochefu

No Salary Protection: Johnny O'Bryant and Casper Ware

Roster Outlook: The Wizards will likely not release Eddie on or before the first game of the 2016-17 regular season and as a result his entire salary will become fully guaranteed. That means five players will compete for two open roster spots during training camp and the preseason. House and O'Bryant may enter the preseason as the favorites, however the other three have a chance to win a roster spot. The Wizards could also release all five players during the preseason, if someone they like from another NBA team hits the waiver-wire prior to the start of the regular season.

2016-17 Salary Cap Outlook: The Wizards may start the regular season around $9.9 million over the salary cap and $9.2 million under the luxury tax line.
