Report: Utah's roster may be set

The Utah Jazz made two transactions on Tuesday as they waived point guard Bryce Cotton and shooting guard Treveon Graham. The Jazz now are down to the roster limit of 15 and they may stick with this group to begin the 2015-16 regular season. From Jody Genessy of the Deseret News:

"Those moves, however, were a good sign for several other Jazz players who have nonguaranteed contracts, including center Jeff Withey and forwards Chris Johnson and Elijah Millsap. (Head coach Quinn) Snyder wouldn't confirm that the roster is set in concrete, but, well, it probably is. 'Obviously, if you look at the numbers that we have on our team, you could probably deduce that,' Snyder said. Teams can only carry between 13 and 15 players. This move gives Utah 15 players, although point guard Dante Exum is out for the year while rehabbing from an offseason knee surgery."

Should the Jazz want to bring in another player early in the season, the likeliest to be waived is Johnson. Millsap starts the season third on the depth chart at shooting guard and fourth at small forward. Withey is in the best position as he does have $200,000 worth of salary protection for 2015-16 and he should begin the season second on the center depth chart.
