Summer recruiting road map: Villanova builds on NCAA title

Heading into the all-important July recruiting period, we take a look at recruiting needs and game plans for the top 25 programs in college basketball. Next up, the Villanova Wildcats.

Where they are: Coach Jay Wright and the Wildcats are currently on top of the college basketball world, coming off a national championship in early April. They also enter the 2016-17 season as one of the favorites to cut down the nets -- despite the losses of seniors Ryan Arcidiacono and Daniel Ochefu. Arcidiacono was a four-year starter for Villanova and was at his best as a senior. Ochefu continued to develop as his career progressed and ended up as a double-figure scorer as a senior. With those two leaving, Villanova will clearly miss their experience: they won 117 games over the course of four seasons. Everyone else is back from last season, though, including potential All-Americans Josh Hart and Kris Jenkins, as well as potential breakout performers Phil Booth and Jalen Brunson. A recruiting class that includes Fordham transfer Eric Paschall and five-star freshman Omari Spellman (No. 18 in ESPN 100) enters the program.
