UA jersey tour: WR Kearis Jackson

Intersport

Wide receiver Kearis Jackson was presented with an Under Armour All America jersey on Wednesday morning, in a ceremony at Peach County High (Fort Valley, Georgia).

Jackson, the No. 26 prospect in the Class of 2018, says Wednesday’s ceremony was as impactful for his family as it was him.

“For one, it means a lot to me and my family to be recognized in the ESPN 300 and the Under Armour Game,” Jackson said. “To be one of the few wide receivers to be invited to the game is a blessing. Growing up watching guys like Julio Jones and Amari Cooper play, I dreamed of playing in the game. When I got the call, my dream came true.”

Jackson committed to the home-state Georgia Bulldogs on August 19 and has not looked back on his decision. If anything, the Bulldogs start to the season with the win at Notre Dame only has the 6-foot-1, 203-pound receiver and return man excited about the future in Athens.

“I think I made a great decision,” he said. “Georgia has a great coaching staff, a great 2017 recruiting class in front of us and we are looking forward to a great class in 2018. I’m looking forward to something great at Georgia.”

Four questions with Kearis Jackson:

What player are you looking forward to competing with or against in the Under Armour All-America Game?

Hopefully my quarterback will be Justin Fields. We just have the connection. And I’m recruiting him pretty hard.

If you could start a team with any player in your class, who would it be and why?

Justin Fields. One, he’s the QB and leader of the offense. You’ve got to have a great QB to start the offense.

What is your earliest football memory?

I would probably say my first high school TD. I was a running back and receiver that season. It was my freshman year, and I was still 14 years old.

What number do your wear, and why?

I wear 7. There are a lot of reasons why. It’s lucky number 7 for one.
