Under Armour jersey tour: TE Mustapha Muhammad

Michigan commitment Mustapha Muhammad was presented with an Under Armour All America jersey on Friday evening at Ridge Point High (Missouri City, Texas) prior to the Panthers’ game vs. Dulles High.

“It’s a blessing to receive my UA All-America jersey,” said Muhammad. “I’ve been working for this since I first started watching the UA Game, and looking up to all of the great players that played before me. This honor has made all the hard work pay off, and I’m looking forward to the future.”

The nation’s No. 2-ranked tight end prospect first realized his All-America dreams could come true prior to his junior season.

“I realized this was possible before my junior season. When the first ESPN 300 for my class came out and I was the No. 1 ranked tight end in the country, I knew being a UA All-America was possible. My confidence shot through the roof, and it showed on the field.”

Four questions with Mustapha Muhammad:

What player are you looking forward to competing with or against in the Under Armour All-America Game?

I’ve had a lot of people tell me about Justin Fields. If he’s my QB, I would be more than happy to catch passes from him.

If you could start a team with any player in your class, who would it be and why?

Trevor Lawrence. I met him and talked to him, and honestly he is what you want in a quarterback. He’s a great guy, and he has all the intangibles.

What is your earliest football memory?

It was actually a not-so-good memory. I was 10 years old. I played tight end. I caught a hitch route and ran about 70 yards, but I got caught at the three-yard line. It was kind of embarrassing.

What number do your wear, and why?

I’ve been wearing 80 all the way through high school. It was given to me my freshman year, and I’ve kept it. Also, one of my favorite players of all-time is Andre Johnson, and he wore it well.
