Texas commitment DeMarvion Overshown was presented with an Under Armour All America jersey on Thursday at Arp (Arp, Texas) High.

“It means a lot. This is one of the football accomplishments I had always hoped for,” said Overshown. “This is a big deal to me. I’m very honored and excited to play in the Under Armour All-America Game.”

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound safety is one of 16 ESPN 300 commitments for the Longhorns’ No. 2-ranked recruiting class, and there have been zero second thoughts throughout Herman’s first year struggles in Austin.

“I think I made the right decision, especially with the class we have committed and our belief that we can get Texas football back to where it’s supposed to be,” Overshown said. “I feel like Tom Herman will turn the program around, and I want to be a part of that.”

What player are you looking forward to competing with or against in the Under Armour All-America Game?

There’s not really a single player. I’m just ready to go and compete against the best.

If you could start a team with any player in your class, who would it be and why?

That’s very tough. There are so many great players in this class. I honestly can’t pick just one.

What is your earliest football memory?

My first year playing, the first three games I didn’t really like playing. I started liking it more as the season went on, and that was the year we actually won the youth league Super Bowl. I had just turned seven.

What number do your wear, and why?

I wear 6. I’ve had the hashtag #6shots. It’s just about how hard I hit.
