Rapid Reaction: Tampa Bay Lightning 4, Pittsburgh Penguins 3 (OT)

PITTSBURGH -- The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in overtime in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals Sunday at Consol Energy Center. The Lightning gain a 3-2 lead in this best-of-seven series with Game 6 Tuesday night at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

How it happened: The word “resiliency” has been overused in this postseason for the Lightning, but once again it's fitting after they erased deficits of 2-0 and 3-2 en route to victory. Defenseman Jason Garrison's wrister deflected off Tyler Johnson in front at 53 seconds of overtime to give the Lightning the come-from-behind win. Nikita Kucherov scored a pair of goals for his 10th and 11th of the postseason. Pittsburgh will likely be second-guessed for making a goalie change. Starting his first game since March 31, veteran Marc-Andre Fleury allowed four goals on 25 shots and wasn’t as sharp as he should have been in a pivotal conference finals game. It's also worth remembering the Lightning are doing this without Vezina Trophy finalist goalie Ben Bishop and captain Steven Stamkos.

What it means: The Lightning are one win shy of returning to the Stanley Cup finals for a second consecutive season. The Penguins need to win on the road in order to force a Game 7 back here.
