Stephen Curry isn’t the only player in the NBA having a season for the ages. While Curry is likely to win a second consecutive MVP, Russell Westbrook has been putting on a show in Oklahoma City.

Yes, Curry is leading the league in scoring, but it’s actually Westbrook who has been responsible for more points per game when taking into account points scored and assisted on. Westbrook is scoring or assisting on 46.6 points per game, just over a point more than Curry.

Westbrook is averaging over 23 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds per game. The only player in NBA history to average those numbers for an entire season is Oscar Robertson, who did it four times, most recently in 1965-66.

And just like Robertson, who is the only player in NBA history to average a triple-double for an entire season, Westbrook has been a triple-double machine. He’s coming off three consecutive triple-doubles entering Thursday night’s game against the Jazz and has six of them in March alone. Over the past 40 years, the only other players with that many triple-doubles in a calendar month are Michael Jordan (seven in April 1989) and Larry Bird (six in February 1986). And considering the Thunder have five more games in March, Westbrook might leave those two legends in the dust.

Westbrook’s 15 triple-doubles this season are the most by any player since 1988-89, when both Magic Johnson (17) and Michael Jordan (15) did it.

Perhaps most impressive of all is the fact that Westbrook’s individual prowess is leading to team success. Oklahoma City is 15-0 this season in games in which he records a triple-double and 34-22 in all other games. According to Elias Sports Bureau research, the only players in NBA history with more consecutive wins when putting up a triple-double are Magic Johnson (24), Wilt Chamberlain (21) and Jason Kidd (15). (The last time OKC lost a game in which Westbrook hit a triple-double was April 5, 2015. The Thunder went 7-4 last season in games he hit the triple-double mark).

So will Westbrook keep it up on Thursday? If history is any indication, the answer appears to be no. In 25 career games against the Jazz, Westbrook has never had a triple-double -- and only once has he come within either two rebounds or two assists of registering one.
