So India take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The second T20I is at the same venue on Tuesday. We will back then. See you!

Jemimah Rodrigues is the Player of the Match: I am really happy but more happy that Radha took that catch [of Dottin] after Smriti and I dropped her. It's been a lot of cricket lately. A little tough to keep mentally fresh. Yesterday I had a chat with Smriti about how to pace my innings. My game plan was simple. Singles off every ball. Loose balls are a bonus. Sir had told me to bat through the end, so my plan was to take it five overs at a time. We could have pushed for another ten runs because we know what we get against West Indies, because of Dottin and even Joseph. I am proud of the way we bowled with the dew. [On fielding] Hard work is in our hand and I can tell you we are giving our all for fielding. I want to dedicate this award to my best friend who is not here.

Smriti Mandhana: [On Harmanpreet] She is doing fine. She is under the observation of the medical team. We started really well. Uma was really good at the start. From the time Jemi came in, it was brilliant to watch her. I had to just give her the strike. And big credit to the bowlers to bowl under this much dew. Even after winning we will go and review where we could have done better as a batting unit. 200-plus was on the cards after the start we got. As well as the bowling. After winning is the best time to review a game. Today we had Sajana as our sixth bowler. But today all other five bowlers were on their mark and with Dottin in the middle, we couldn't bring on an offspinner in Sajana. But she has been bowling well in domestic cricket and in the nets too. So she is our sixth bowler.

Hayley Matthews: We were a bit loose with the ball. We had certain lengths to bowl but didn't execute. We let ourselves down in the field. But there were a few positives. James at the top and Dottin in the middle. The girls have had quite a few days here to get accustomed but probably didn't show today. We back ourselves to chase anything but they got 15-20 runs more.

Titas Sadhu: We executed well but there are things we can do better in the coming games. You have to keep bowling in the right areas here as the pitch helps fast bowlers. [On Joseph's wicket] It was a mis-executed bouncer.

10.24pm India win by 49 runs. They were always the favourite once they posted 195 for 4. Matthews then got out early, and while Joseph scored a brisk 49, the task was too big. Dottin threatened to shift the balance with a stroke-filled 52 off 28 but once she fell, West Indies' hope evaporated. Both sides were sloppy in the field, something they would like to improve upon in the upcoming matches.
