10.21pm Comfortable. West Indies, in the end, far too clinical on all fronts and Afghanistan, quite the opposite, lacking any penetration on any end. After they were bowled out for 110, it was always going to be a task too tough to defend that. West Indies struck several big hits, played even more dots and lost a few wickets. Nothing you wouldn't see from West Indies. A good start to the weekend for West Indies, but cricket resumes in under 24 hours at the same venue with game 2 of this three-match series. The presentation to come.
Man of the Match, Sunil Narine: "It's good to come back and play for West Indies. We didn't relax, they batted smartly. With the technology now, every team knows what is coming so have to stay ahead."
Asghar Stanikzai: "Played some poor shots, if we made 40-45 more, it would have been good. Want to play positive cricket."
Carlos Brathwaite: "very professional with the ball with the first 15 overs. could have been better in the last five overs, but in cricket, you don't roll teams over. There will always be a partnership. A couple of things we identified - the batting effort, could be more clinical, and the fielding - the overall ground fielding has improved."
