Bangladesh take low scorer to seal series

Bangladesh Women 88 for 7 (Rahman 29, Mir 4-36) beat Pakistan Women 87 (Abidi 28, Akhter 3-13, Ghosh 2-9) by three wickets
Scorecard

Bangladesh Women contrived to turn a simple chase into a low-scoring thriller but managed to hold their nerve to a three-wicket victory over Pakistan Women to take the ODI series 2-0.

Pakistan's decision to bat backfired enormously as they were routed for 87. Seamer Lata Mondal set the pace early by dismissing both openers with only 15 on the board. A brief period of solidity ensued with Nain Abidi and Sana Mir adding 38 runs for the fourth wicket but once that stand was broken the innings collapsed. Pakistan lost three further wickets with the score on 67 and crumpled there on. Shohaly Akhter picked up 3 for 13 and Panna Ghosh produced a tight seven overs for nine runs and two wickets.

Mir, the Pakistan captain, led the fightback with the ball forcing the hosts into a wobble. Ayasha Rahman and Fargana Hoque had ushered to score to 50 when the batting began to come apart. They lost three wickets for 13 runs and then a further three with the score on 87 to be seven down. Fortunately for the hosts, there was only one run for victory. Mir ended with 4 for 26 off her 10 overs, but would rue gifting 15 runs in extras, 13 of which were wides.
