India Women 143 for 3 (Mandhana 51) beat Sri Lanka Women 140 (Mendis 56, Sultana 4-15) by seven wickets
Scorecard
A batting collapse from Sri Lanka Women paved the way for India Women's comprehensive seven-wicket win in Visakhapatnam. Sri Lanka, put in to bat, raced to 61 in 7.3 overs, thanks to Yasoda Mendis' 29-ball 56. Mendis slammed seven fours and three sixes, but was trapped lbw by Amita Sharma in the eighth over. Sri Lanka never recovered from her dismissal, as from 90 for 2 in the 16th over, they were bundled out for 140 by the 48th. Left-arm spinner Gouher Sultana was the pick of the hosts' bowlers, and eventually finished with 4 for 15 to run through a line-up in which only three batters reached double digits.
India were always comfortable chasing a small total, and the openers Poonam Raut and Smriti Mandhana put up an opening stand of 74 to build a solid platform. Mandhana struck eight fours during her 51, while Raut's 38 included seven fours. The pair, as well as Harmanpreet Kaur were dismissed by the 30th over, but an Indian victory was never in question, as Mithali Raj and Karu Jain took the team home inside 40 overs.
