Presentation:

Dhoni: "The thumb is fine, nothing to worry. Not a good game for us. We didn't start well with the new ball when we bowled. It was definitely not a 350 pitch so our bowlers let us down. I think we were quite well prepared. We made the most of those 2-3 days before this. It's important for us to bowl well. Once the opposition has scored 350 we have to go for the bowling. More than the death bowling I was more disappointed with the new-ball bowling. We didn't find the right lengths. I think we need a bit more pace. Let's hope for the best."

AB: "We feel we're going to win trophies in the future and that's how we're going to play. I was going to bowl first too. I thought they were a bit too short in the first ten overs and that gave us the kickstart. Quinton showed great maturity for someone his age. We should a lot of flair. JP timed it very well and made it look really easy. Steyn's a bit of a freak with any kind of ball. Splendid performance. India will look to bounce but we're not going to stand back."

Quinton de Kock is the Man of the Match: "I'm very proud, didn't expect this to happen. I'm also proud of the other guys for their individual performances. I'm not one for the punching the air celebrations. I like to keep it cool. I wouldn't say I'm the star. I'm just a 20-year-old trying to do my thing."

Poor de Kock, shy as ever, had a hard time answering Haysman, who wouldn't let him go.

That's it from us here. Thanks for your company today. Do join us again for the second ODI on December 8. It's a day game which starts at 10am local time (1330 GMT). We'll see you soon. Cheers!

End of match: South Africa thrash India by a whopping 141 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series. It means India need to win the next two to take the series. India discovered that chasing 350 against a far superior bowling attack, without any assistance from dew was a completely different proposition to the scenario back in India in October. Fair to say that India were outplayed by pace and bounce. Let's not forget that their bowlers were carted around in the last ten. Plenty of issues to be addressed.

It's still only the first match but South Africa will not let up with the bouncer barrage. You also have to remember that India didn't have any warm-ups. Not the fault of the players though.

We're waiting for the presentation.

Vikram Raj: "I would be shocked if someone did not expect something like this to happen. Though I would have expected the batsmen to get to at least 250, I am more disappointed in bowlers who did not make use of helpful conditions. I hope they come back strongly in the next match after seeing how the pitches and conditions assist them."
