4.39 pm Darren Sammy says well played to New Zealand, especially to Boult who got a 10-for. He adds that they had to learn a lot from the opposition. They got a big score and bowled really well to back it up. Looking at Boult's drop and the dollies that we dropped, we didn't bat well, we didn't bowl well. The wicket does a bit but you have to stay out there in the middle, we weren't able to do that. It isn't all doom and gloom. We were in a good mood after Dunedin. We''ll look to dust ourselves off and come back well in Hamilton.

"I'm delighted for these guys," says Brendon McCullum after his first win as captain. he says they had done well in Dunedin to be in a strong position. He says it was a psychological boost when the batters do well on a tough wicket. They had received some criticism over the past, which was deserved, he says, but the batters did very well in this Test match. He praised the bowlers for their effort, saying they were quite disciplined. Regarding the decision to enforce the follow-on, He was wary that the wicket could have flattened out and thought the conditions would be best for bowling today. He said they knew Boult and Southee could not bowl long spells, but the other bowlers were still fresh. Things had looked a little difficult at 70 for no loss, but the bowlers stuck to their task. The fielding was outstanding. "We were creating chance," he says. Winning is something to cherish and its the first one for some of the guys so we'll enjoy ourselves now and will regroup tomorrow afternoon.

Trent Boult, the Man of the Match said the win and his performance were pretty big higlights that he would not forget in a hurry. He called the pitch a decent wicket and said it was always enjoyable bowling in Wellington with the wind and the overcast conditions. He was pleased with the way he got to move the ball and once it started swinging he just bowled within himself and enjoyed his success. He chuckles at the mention of that catch he took to dismiss Denesh Ramdin in the second innings, saying he would be torn what to look for in the replays.

New Zealand were put on on a green wicket and they put up a mammoth 441, courtesy Ross Taylor's second ton in as many Tests. And then the bowlers closed things out with ruthless precision. Trent Boult was the star by far, recording his career-best figures and picking up his first 10-for in the match as well and an absolutely eye-popping catch. Tim Southee and Neil Wagner were quite potent as well and a combination of seam movement, persistence and discpline (and lack thereof by West Indies) New Zealand relish a well-deserved victory. The visitors will have a lot of soul seaching to do, losing 16 wickets today alone. Batting collapses are becoming the norm. They did begin quite well in the second innings, but ever since the first wicket fell, they were broken. Stick around for the presentation, this should be a sweet one for New Zealand
