That is all from this game. The series is alive for the final match in Kanpur. It is a day game on Wednesday. Abhishek Purohit signing off till then. Good night.

Darren Sammy is the Man of the Match. Sammy: "I must thank my team-mates for giving me another opportunity. It must have been difficult to do that, seeing how the series has gone for me. Simmons and I communicated well. We backed ourselves to get 90-odd in the last ten overs. Once I am hitting the ball nicely, it was always good for me. Good to contribute in a crucial game."

Dwayne Bravo: "Great team effort. Holder and Rampaul gave us a good start, can't forget young Permaul. Once we got the Indians under 300, we backed ourselves to chase. We planned very well. It was a must-win game for us. We communicated well on the field. The bowlers executed. We fielded well. Bowling to MS, the best player in the world, is always difficult. Well done to young Powell, Simmons and Darren Sammy. Myself getting out at a crucial time. Our aim was for one of the top five batters to bat through the innings. We had four half-centuries today, so that was good."

MS Dhoni: "There was a lot of dew, was difficult for bowlers to even grip the ball, let along putting it in right areas. Toss was crucial. To take it to the last over was a superb bowling effort. The spinners did really well. When we went into bowl, there was plenty of dew, and it kept getting worse. It was very difficult to score runs and rotate strike. We saw that when they batted as well. If there was no dew, 289 was 400-odd on this pitch with so much turn and bounce."

Not often can you accuse him of not throwing his wicket away, but for once, Darren Sammy has done exactly the same. He came in at 185 for 5. There was extra responsibility as West Indies were playing an extra bowler. They needed 22 more when Simmons fell but Sammy wasn't going to give it away tonight. This is as sensible a finishing innings as you'll ever see, and he's still managed a strike-rate of 140. He's led West Indies to their fourth-highest successful chase

Catches galore going down this game. West Indies put down a couple, but India outdid them by dropping at least five chances, including Darren Bravo thrice in four balls. Yuvraj put down Simmons on 43. West Indies were 215 for 5 then.

Lendl Simmons [on what he and Sammy were thinking]: "Just knock it around, keep rotating the strike, build a partnership, bat till the end. Sammy batted well. We stuck to our gameplan and executed it well." Simmons adds it was difficult to bowl. The ball was changed twice when West Indies batted, there was so much dew around.

Kamal: "I'm looking for the guy who sent that feedback saying Sammy's been in the team only to take good catches. #MotherOfJinxes"

MM Sharma to Sammy, 1 run, Sammy was winding up, but he saw this bowled slow, and reined himself in to tap it into the off side for a single

Second bat change for Sammy. Mohit Sharma will bowl the last over
