Quotes from the presentation
"We gave away too many runs in the Powerplay," says Darren Sammy. "We still have to learn how to do it. I believed in Gabriel's extra pace, and thought he could get Afridi out. He did get him out, but a bit too late. We batted like champions, but this time our bowlers didn't back up our batsmen."
"It's a great effort by the players," says Mohammad Hafeez. "Really happy to see their desire to win. Really happy with the contribution of the two debutants, and then Mr Afridi. It was a tough chase, but the positive intent was there. Really happy to say there."
"I am very happy," says Shahid Afridi, the Man of the Match. "I think the way Mohammad Hafeez is leading the team, it is very good. I should give my award to Zulfiqar Babar: he bowled well, fielded well, batted well. And Umar Amin too."
You're nearly 35, you finally get the Pakistan cap, and what do you do? Three wickets including Samuels', and then score 13 nerveless runs when all around you are losing their head. A tip of the hat to you, sir. And so to Afridi too. He came and smacked the first ball he faced for a six after which he settled down into a largely sensible chase of 153, and left only eight short
However, on this pitch, you shouldn't be losing after scoring 152. The West Indies bowlers were poor, fielding worse, and captaincy questionable. Possibly that's what T20 pressure does to you. We hope to find out more when Sammy and Hafeez speak at the presentation, so do stick around
Randy: "After Bravo's horrible captaincy, Sammy was starting to look increasingly appealing. Then he goes and underbowls himself as usual to remind me why I wanted him gone in the first place...."
"Jamsheds controversy SIX may be the key thing for WI...if it is FOUR the things might be different..well done babar..." Kajini, don't forget the last ball of the West Indies' innings, when possibly every non-striker other than Sunil Narine would have taken two runs. And Gayle's fielding too
What a finish. It is raining. One run required off the last ball
Saeed Ajmal run out 0 (7m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
Rain is falling, field is coming up
Samuels it is. Super Over not ruled out here. And I think it might be raining too. All happening here
