- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR2.2 Bhuvneshwar you ripper, after that leg side rubbish last ball, he comes up with one that changes course sharply, it was going across the left-hander, short of a length, most would have decided to leave that, but then it jags back in, unfortunately for Warner, the line is bang on off, and Warner gets a fatal inside edge, that is Bhuvneshwar's first Test wicket 10/14.2 Bhuvneshwar on fire, incoming delivery to the left-hander once again, starts across with the angle, and moves in, Marais Erasmus thinks this is hitting the stumps, replays suggest it is, but they also show it pitched just outside leg stump, Cowan caught in front of middle on the defensive push, and done in by the umpire, I don't care how long you haggle over the intricacies of the DRS, get the third umpire to weed out these howlers, and you can carry on with your haggling 15/221.2 Ashwin strikes, he's conceded a run and is into his sixth over, and has now taken out Hughes, but what a take from Dhoni, on the second attempt, tossed up, good length, middle and off, spins away, Hughes cuts, edges, it pops out of Dhoni;s gloves, but the keeper recovers to throw himself to his left and take the ball even as it comes down 63/414.6 uh oh, Watson's in trouble, he;s seen a rare short of a length delivery, and has immediately gone for the pull, the bounce in this wicket has been largely okay, but not extravagant, this one does not bounce as much as Watson expected, and swings in to knock him on the bent right leg, just above the pad, in front of off stump 57/383.1 Clarke is gone, he tried to attack Jadeja, went down a for a big sweep, missed, and Jadeja, accurate as always, hits the stumps, can't blame Clarke really, with hardly any batting left, he had to do something, and quickly 236/968.3 Wade has given it away, quite needless, when he had been doing so well, Harbhajan getting some bounce outside off, and Wade has failed to keep the cut down, Bhuvneshwar doing well to dive to his left and end the partnership 208/573.5 out of nowhere Jadeja has produced a beauty, flights it into the batsman on leg stump, Henriques forward, but instead of defending straight, he's tried to push it to leg, and unfortunately for him, the ball has spun across the bat face to hit the stumps 217/679.4 another one for Jadeja, and Dhoni has held on to a chance, hasn't been a good day for him behind the stumps, but he's taken a neat catch, Jadeja straightens it just outside off, the good length made Maxwell go for the back foot punch, the ball bounced sharply, and Dhoni pouched the outside edge 233/782.4 that is plumb, and umpire Erasmus has no doubts about it, Siddle had been going back often to defend against the spinners, chooses to do that to a flighted fullish offbreak, and is caught deep in the crease in front of middle 236/8Extras13 (b 10, lb 3)TOTAL237/9d (85 Overs, RR: 2.78, 344 minutes)Fall of wickets: 1-10 (David Warner, 2.2 ov), 2-15 (Ed Cowan, 4.2 ov), 3-57 (Shane Watson, 14.6 ov), 4-63 (Phillip Hughes, 21.2 ov), 5-208 (Matthew Wade, 68.3 ov), 6-217 (Moises Henriques, 73.5 ov), 7-233 (Glenn Maxwell, 79.4 ov), 8-236 (Peter Siddle, 82.4 ov), 9-236 (Michael Clarke, 83.1 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR117.4 Maxwell finally get a wicket for India, but the crowd is playing with Aussie heads with the loudest cheer of the day. Short of a length, but turns and bounces against the angle, Vijay fends a simple catch to backward short leg. The crowd goes mad not for Maxwell's maiden Test wicket, but because the next man in is Sachin Tendulkar. This is the fourth-highest partnership for India ever 387/27.6 another low score for Sehwag, and another occasion where he's been subdued and tried to bide his time, but hasn't looked comfortable, Siddle banging it back of a length into Sehwag, puff of dust as the ball holds its line, and Sehwag gets a healthy edge through to Wade, who celebrates immediately, no reaction initially from Siddle, and Sehwag hangs around till umpire Dharmasena sends him on his way 17/1120.4 superb catch by Doherty. Good to see a fielding side awake after such punishment. This is a good bouncer, aimed at the head. Pujara hooks, but the ball gets big on him and he can't keep it down despite trying to roll his wrists on it. It is dying on long leg, but Doherty dives in front and takes the catch. In two Tests, Pattinson has dismissed double-centurions with bouncers. Pujara gets a standing ovation on the way back 393/3124.4 length ball down the leg side, Tendulkar misses out on what could have been easy runs. Hang on, hang on. They are appealing for a catch down leg, and the umpires have gone up to the third umpire, which means they are looking at if the catch is clean. The catch is clean, but remember the third umpire can also rule on whether there was an edge. And the replays are inconclusive here. Long chat going on here. About a couple of minutes. Marais Erasmus walks back to his mark, and he raises his finger. So it has been ruled that Tendulkar got a touch on this. Without the help of a Hot Spot or a snicko, this is really hard to tell. If there indeed was a touch, it was very faint. Tendulkar takes it well and walks off. Okay we have a got a snicko here, and it says he was out. There was an edge 404/4149.5 Ed Cowan takes a ripper at backward short leg. He can write about this one. Maxwell gets this one to dip as Kohli gives him the charge, the ball now has time to spin. It hits the inside edge, and Cowan doves to his left at backward short leg to pluck this one 491/9139.3 taken on the second grab. Maxwell gets two. Downi wants to clear mid-off, but gets a bit too close to the ball. Dhoni might not have got the elevation, but he has drilled it all right. It bursts through Doherty's hands at mid-off. Hits him on the chest, but he takes the rebound well 460/5145.3 superb catch. Again Maxwell striking through rebounds. Jadeja drills this back to the right of Maxwell. He gets both hands to it, but the ball is hit so hard it bursts out of his grip. Maxwell is alert to the rebound, though, and goes back to dive and pluck it before it hits the ground 484/6146.2 that drop from Cowan costs Australia just one run. And gives lead spinner Doherty a wicket and a smile. Turn and bounce from outside off as Ashwin defends. Off the shoulder it goes for a catch to gully. They check for the no-ball but Doherty is good. Ashwin might have been dismissed, but he will be glad with the way he got out. There is turn. There is bounce 485/7148.2 like the buses, two come together for Doherty after a long long wait. Harbhajan looks to smash one full ball, but hits it flat and straight down mid-off's throat. And it's Maxwell with the catch again. These spinners have been helping each other with the catches 489/8154.1 India are bowled out. BK skips down the wicket, is nowhere near the line or the pitch of the ball, and is stumped. Maxwell doesn't get five, but Doherty's average has fallen drastically 503/10Extras18 (b 1, lb 13, w 4)TOTAL503 all out (154.1 Overs, RR: 3.26, 622 minutes)Fall of wickets: 1-17 (Virender Sehwag, 7.6 ov), 2-387 (Murali Vijay, 117.4 ov), 3-393 (Cheteshwar Pujara, 120.4 ov), 4-404 (Sachin Tendulkar, 124.4 ov), 5-460 (MS Dhoni, 139.3 ov), 6-484 (Ravindra Jadeja, 145.3 ov), 7-485 (Ravichandran Ashwin, 146.2 ov), 8-489 (Harbhajan Singh, 148.2 ov), 9-491 (Virat Kohli, 149.5 ov), 10-503 (Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 154.1 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR47.2 Cowan is finally gone, caught off the pad of Dhoni by Sehwag at slip. Flat, shortish, Cowan goes to cut, but the ball skids on, takes a healthy edge, which hits Dhoni's pad just above the knee roll, the plateauish region from where it bounces to slip where Sehwag is alert. Cowan doesn't look pleased. Is he just disappointed or did he want the umpires to take a look at the replay to see if it bounced off the ground? I won't analyse facial reactions 111/519.6 the change of angle works for Ashwin. Warner tries to sweep it as this is pitched outside leg, but it is that awkward sweeping length between the too full and lenght region. Warner misses, and the ball turns to hit the prone leg stump. Dhoni's reaction suggests it was his idea to get Ashwin to move over the stumps 56/123.3 Australia are sweeping themselves out of the Test. That angle is working like a charm. Tossed up outside leg, Hughes looks to sweep, but he has got too far across, and is hit on the glove, and the ball rolls onto the stumps. Ashwin can't believe Hughes has taken the bait too 56/234.6 strangle down the leg side. First wicket of the series for Ishant Sharma. A length ball, down the leg side, Watson thinks he can get four, but he ends up playing it too fine, and Dhoni takes a nice catch diving to his left 75/345.4 what a ripper. Clarke has done everything right with this, but the off stump is flat. On a length, dipping on him, pitches middle, Clarke moves forward to defend, and the ball turns past the bat and flattens the off stump. Jadeja has bowled Clarke twice in this match. Clarke is a bit stunned. Unlike Henriques in the first innings, Clarke was playing straight here 108/458.1 falling like nine pins here. Will Australia declare now? Tossed up wide outside off, Wade pushes in hope, gets a soft edge, Sehwag accepts it with glee at slip 130/948.1 can't keep Jadeja away. Now he has ripped the stumps out with a direct hit from cover. It's a bad, bad call from Australia. Pushed off the back foot towards cover, Wade calls Henriques for one, Jadeja swoops in fast, and even despite a fumble Jadeja has run him out by a mile. That throw is a rocket. That throw is going fast even in slow-motion replays 111/654.1 that's plumb lbw. Carrom ball. Lovely use of it. Using it for the lesser batsmen and not for the top order. Anyway this wicket was a-coming. Maxwell has hardly looked assured. This drifts in towards the pads, is full, and Maxwell thinks he can flick it square. He has not read the ball at all. It pitches, turns the other way, and hits the back pad in front of middle and off. Very good use of the variation: sparing and against a lesser batsman 123/757.6 Jadeja and Dhoni can do no wrong, and the Indian fielders are falling over each other to claim catches. Don't forget Dhoni's pad, though. Flat ball, outside off, turns away, takes the edge, hits Dhoni's glove and then the pad, and the ricochet is going to Sehwag at slip but Kohli from gull plucks it in front of the senior Delhi batsman 130/866.6 it's all over at the HCA Stadium. Ashwin gets five. Full, straight and flat. Beats the inside edge, it is deemed to be going straight on to hit the stumps. Pitches in front of leg, does it straighten enough? Dharmasena thinks so 131/10Extras13 (b 7, lb 6)TOTAL131 all out (67 Overs, RR: 1.95, 237 minutes)Fall of wickets: 1-56 (David Warner, 19.6 ov), 2-56 (Phillip Hughes, 23.3 ov), 3-75 (Shane Watson, 34.6 ov), 4-108 (Michael Clarke, 45.4 ov), 5-111 (Ed Cowan, 47.2 ov), 6-111 (Moises Henriques, 48.1 ov), 7-123 (Glenn Maxwell, 54.1 ov), 8-130 (Peter Siddle, 57.6 ov), 9-130 (Matthew Wade, 58.1 ov), 10-131 (James Pattinson, 66.6 ov)
