4.2 Bhuvneshwar on fire, incoming delivery to the left-hander once again, starts across with the angle, and moves in, Marais Erasmus thinks this is hitting the stumps, replays suggest it is, but they also show it pitched just outside leg stump, Cowan caught in front of middle on the defensive push, and done in by the umpire, I don't care how long you haggle over the intricacies of the DRS, get the third umpire to weed out these howlers, and you can carry on with your haggling 15/2

120.4 superb catch by Doherty. Good to see a fielding side awake after such punishment. This is a good bouncer, aimed at the head. Pujara hooks, but the ball gets big on him and he can't keep it down despite trying to roll his wrists on it. It is dying on long leg, but Doherty dives in front and takes the catch. In two Tests, Pattinson has dismissed double-centurions with bouncers. Pujara gets a standing ovation on the way back 393/3

Marais Erasmus walks back to his mark, and he raises his finger. So it has been ruled that Tendulkar got a touch on this. Without the help of a Hot Spot or a snicko, this is really hard to tell. 149.5 Ed Cowan takes a ripper at backward short leg. He can write about this one. Maxwell gets this one to dip as Kohli gives him the charge, the ball now has time to spin. It hits the inside edge, and Cowan doves to his left at backward short leg to pluck this one 491/9

139.3 taken on the second grab. Maxwell gets two. Downi wants to clear mid-off, but gets a bit too close to the ball. Dhoni might not have got the elevation, but he has drilled it all right. It bursts through Doherty's hands at mid-off. Hits him on the chest, but he takes the rebound well 460/5

145.3 superb catch. Again Maxwell striking through rebounds. Jadeja drills this back to the right of Maxwell. He gets both hands to it, but the ball is hit so hard it bursts out of his grip. Maxwell is alert to the rebound, though, and goes back to dive and pluck it before it hits the ground 484/6

47.2 Cowan is finally gone, caught off the pad of Dhoni by Sehwag at slip. Flat, shortish, Cowan goes to cut, but the ball skids on, takes a healthy edge, which hits Dhoni's pad just above the knee roll, the plateauish region from where it bounces to slip where Sehwag is alert. Cowan doesn't look pleased. Is he just disappointed or did he want the umpires to take a look at the replay to see if it bounced off the ground? I won't analyse facial reactions 111/5

19.6 the change of angle works for Ashwin. Warner tries to sweep it as this is pitched outside leg, but it is that awkward sweeping length between the too full and lenght region. 48.1 can't keep Jadeja away. Now he has ripped the stumps out with a direct hit from cover. It's a bad, bad call from Australia. Pushed off the back foot towards cover, Wade calls Henriques for one, Jadeja swoops in fast, and even despite a fumble Jadeja has run him out by a mile. That throw is a rocket. It pitches, turns the other way, and hits the back pad in front of middle and off. Very good use of the variation: sparing and against a lesser batsman 123/7

Flat ball, outside off, turns away, takes the edge, hits Dhoni's glove and then the pad, and the ricochet is going to Sehwag at slip but Kohli from gull plucks it in front of the senior Delhi batsman 130/8

66.6 it's all over at the HCA Stadium. Ashwin gets five. Full, straight and flat. Beats the inside edge, it is deemed to be going straight on to hit the stumps. Pitches in front of leg, does it straighten enough? Dharmasena thinks so 131/10
