They gave hope of a comeback, but it wasn't to be today. Thanks for all the comments and feedback, apologies as we get to publish only a handful. Dan Brettig's match-report is being updated as I type. This is Devashish Fuloria signing off, ciao ciao.

Shane Watson is the player of the match: "It was nice to be out there. It was a nice easy wicket. Once I got going -- I have been dreaming of this for the last four weeks. "

Australia have finished the job with precision. They put up a strong score, thanks to Shane Watson and Phil Hughes with the bat, and then their bowlers kept chipping away with the wickets. James Faulkner picked up four wickets - all four bowled. The pitch at Manuka Oval was supposed to give the West Indies team a respite after Perth, but they gave a few too many earlier. The Bravos kept them in the game for a while, but once they were out, there was no one really to stand up and be a hero today.

Dave: "WI have been given two very chaseable scores by Australia, and, after being in good position, lost both. Got to hurt your confidence."

Ashok: "This West Indies team batting line up is one of the most capable one but unfortunately they are yet to prove it."

Faulkner to Sammy, OUT, Match is over! Series is decided. Thanks for coming everyone. It's full and on the middle stump, Sammy, left alone with Richard Parker on a boat, has no option but to take a plunge. He goes for a big swing and misses. Middle stump takes a beating..

SP Narine b Faulkner 1 (6m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

Australia have this all in control it seems.. JF comes back.

Tharique: "An over of maxwell to Narine might change the equation in WI's favour"

McKay to Russell, OUT, oh no! Is that the end of the challenge! Russell gets a similar ball and tries a big flat batted swing towards midwicket but ends up top-edging. Wade runs around to short-fine and swallows that one..
