26.2 a wicket from nowhere, a run-out just a minute before lunch, Warner gets forward and pushes the ball firmly towards short cover, he started out before realising that there wasn't time for a single, Hughes had already committed and was steaming down, Mathews had loads of time to lob the ball towards the non-striker's end, Warner has thrown it away 97/2
5.3 Sri Lanka breakthrough! Cowan is gone looking to pull, he seemed to be a touch late playing that, hit high on the blade, and a top-edge as well, the ball swirls to mid-on, easy take there, fourth early dismissal for Cowan in the first innings in his five previous Tests 18/1

58.1 no century for Hughes, Welegedara has him bowled, short of length ball outside off, that came back a touch, there was a gap between bat and pad, an inside-edge and that ball crashes into the stumps, hang on, is that a no-ball? no, it isn't, just gets a bit of boot behind the line, Welegedara gets his third of the day 198/4
50.4 what a ripper at second slip, sensational catch from the captain Mahela Jaywardene, just what Sri Lanka need on a tough day, Watson was looking to drive that one, got a healthy edge, Jayawardene flung himself to his right, long way to go to reach the ball, but he plucks that at full stretch, absolutely brilliant from Mahela 183/3
92.1 big wicket here, the man in the middle of the purplest of patches has been dismissed early, Clarke nicks to first slip, short of length ball just outside off, seams away a touch, Clarke pokes at it as he moves forward, take the edge, Kumar Sangakkara snaffles it, just the start Sri Lanka wanted 304/5

9.3 got the outside edge, Hilfenhaus usually get the ball to nip in to the left-hander, this moves away slightly with the angle, Karunaratne attempts a half-hearted defensive shot and nicks it through to the keeper 25/1

97.1 at long last a wicket for Starc, the yorker does the trick, that lasered in towards the base of off stump, beats the bat which comes down a bit late, bowled 'im, Dilshan's long vigil is over, superb innings from him which kept Sri Lanka in the game, a relieved Starc kicks the ball towards the square leg umpire 289/6
14.4 massive wicket here, Kumar Sangakkara is gone, full ball outside off, Sangakkara was sucked into the drive, and a thick outside edge to gully, Hussey doesn't put too many down, he latches on to this one, Sri Lanka 42/2, Siddle has struck 42/2
22.1 Review after Mahela Jayawardene is given lbw. Has the golden arm of Watson struck again? there's no inside-edge, Mahela was struck on the knee roll in front of middle stump, the Eagle Eye predicts that would have hit leg stump, Sri Lanka in trouble, Jayawardene had moved across the stumps initially, then had to get his front foot back inside the line of the ball as he looked to defend, the ball angles past the bat to strike the pad 70/3
29.1 the third of Sri Lanka's experienced trio in the middle over is gone! Lyon gets one to jump a bit extra outside off, it slides on straight as well, Samaraweera went for the cut, takes the top edge, deflects to Wade, who pouches that on the second attempt, Sri Lanka well and truly in the mire now. Stumps 87/4

85.5 there's the breakthrough, Siddle gets this one to nip one and strike the pads, umpire agrees, but that's referred by Mathews, hit just above the knee roll on the front leg, hit in front of middle and off, that was going on to hit top of middle says the simulation, and Mathews is gone, Siddle gets a much-deserved reward for a sustained spell of tight bowling, Mathews had pointed to his thigh pad of his back leg when talking to Dilshan about whether to refer it or nor, but he was struck on the front pad as well 248/5
105.4 referral, lbw turned down, Australia go for the DRS, that struck him low on the front pad, that pitched on off stump, struck him between middle and off and was going to crash just above the middle of middle stump, think the umpire though that hit bat first, it didn't, even Siddle wasn't sure whether to go for the review, the decision is overturned, Jayawardene's came ends at 40, 316/7
108.4 flighted by Lyon, Kulasekara wants to send this out of the ground, swipes it but not far enough, the substitute Jordan Silk is waiting for that on the rope, end of the Kulasekara's innings 336/9
107.1 oh dear, the Herath show is over much too soon, and we didn't even get to see one of his classic strokes, and it ends with an absolute shocker of a decision from Tony Hill, massive inside-edge as Herath looked to defend that one, that too with the bat a long way from the pads, somehow the umpire missed that, and there are no reviews left, Siddle gets another 320/8

44.4 two quick wickets for Sri Lanka, Cowan is bowled by Welegedara, that sneaks between the bat and pad, cuts in quite a bit, easily beats the bat, and then off the pad to the bails 140/2
41.1 the Warner show is over, the carrom ball does the job, it spins away from Warner after pitching well outside off, Warner looks to chop that through the off side, toe edge through to the keeper, at last Sri Lanka strike 132/1

54.2 Sri Lanka get another, at this rate Australia won't have to worry about timing the delcaration, four down now, Eranga gets the ball to nip in a touch, Hughes was looking to run that down to the third man, inside-edges it onto the stumps 165/4
51.5 doesn't matter, Watson is gone stumped, he was drawn forward by that one, the back leg slides out of the crease for a moment, Watson plays outside the line of that delivery, sneaks between bat and body, Prasanna Jayawardene collects and takes off the bails before Watson drags his back foot back to safety, top work there from the keeper 153/3
57.4 make that five down, Wade looks to power that over long-on, can't get it as far as Warner did earlier in the day, Kulasekara is waiting near the rope, easy take for him, wicket No. 3 for Herath 181/5

68.2 superb take by Prasanna, back of a length ball that went with the angle, Siddle pokes it through, Prasanna leaps to his right and takes a low one-handed catch, hardly any celebrations from the Sri Lankans 250/6
68.6 review, Starc given lbw, it was a yorker that swung in, struck in line with middle and leg, Eagle Eye says that would have hit leg stump, Starc has to go, Australia effectively eight nine down 256/7

71.3 bowled 'im, gone for the sweep once more, a quick full ball slides under the bat and crashes into the stumps 271/8
73.5 five for Herath, he gets Hilfenhaus lbw, Hussey not sure whether Clarke would come out to bat, he remained in the middle for a moment, before joining Hilfenahaus on the walk back, that ball slides on after pitching around off, struck Hilfenhaus low in front of middle and off, no point going for the review there, no doubts. 278/9

23.1 Starc strikes, a terrific yorker, lasers in towards the base of off stump, similar one to the Dilshan dismissal in the first innings, the bat came down far too late, Karunaratne's Test is over, Australia get their second 47/2
9.1 and the golden arm has struck first ball! back of a length ball around off, straightens a touch and takes the outside edge through to the keeper, no repeat of his first-innings heroics for Dilshan 26/1
75.6 another review, Sangakkara given lbw once more, this looks close, short of length ball, no bat involved, that was pitching on middle, heading for middle, that kept low to beat Sangakkara, who was caught on the crease, his long vigil is over, and Australia have the key wicket 151/4
55.1 there's the breakthrough, Siddle does it once more, pitched up and that straightens a little, Jayawardene gets on the front foot as he looks to push to the off side, edges it towards slip, where Clarke takes a good low catch, a workout for his hamstring as well there 112/3
101.6 review, Samaraweera given lbw, has Siddle done it again? no bat involved, that pitched just outside off, hitting in front of middle, as samaraweera is caught on the crease, hit on the knee roll, Eagle eye says that is hitting leg stump, he's fighting innings is over, Australia are into the tail and sensing a victory now 218/6
97.1 edged through to the keeper, Siddle gets his eighth of the match as Mathews plays a loose drive to a ball outside off, that moved away just a touch, needn't have played at it, nicks it to the keeper and Australia have renewed hope now 201/5
107.4 Starc strikes, Prasanna is gone, Australia three away now, quick length ball, angling in, extra bounce too much to deal with, hits the glove on its way through to the slip cordon, Sri Lanka's chances fading here 235/7
113.5 Starc is rewarded, after harrying Herath without success, his first ball to Kulasekara nicks it through to the keeper, no foot work whatsoever from Kulasekara and he feathers it to Wade, two to go for Australia now 247/8
117.3 bowled 'im, finally, after many many near misses Starc gets the wicket, it was a yorker again, 146.3kph, Herath gets bat on it, just about, hits his boot and rolls on to the stumps, his gutsy innings is over, and it is down to the last pair 250/9
119.2 it's over, Australia get their first home Test win of the series, Sri Lanka's resistance is over, Starc gets five, Eranga edges that through to the keeper, extra bounce does him in, not an easy one to play that one, Australia are jubilant, Sri Lanka battled for nearly 120 overs but it wasn't enough 255/10
