A great fight from West Indies in the second innings, but it was comfortable in the end for India, they win by an innings and 15 runs. Bravo and Chanderpaul battled hard in the morning, before an aggressive stand between Bravo and Samuels briefly raised hopes of West Indies setting India a target, but a dramatic collapse meant the match finished even before tea. West Indies lost their final six wickets for 62.
Viswas and others: "so, Umesh is on hat-trick in next match ?" No, he won't.
Plenty of praise coming in for Umesh Yadav. Shishank Dahiya: "How badly India needs a bowler like Umesh who can clean the tail pretty quickly."
Naveen: "It is nice to see an Indian fast bowler wipe out the tail the West Indian way :-)"
M Suresh: "MOM - Umesh Yadav for removing mostly batsmen in both innings on a lifeless track."
Kiran: "So heartning to see a genuine quick bowler in Indian line up among the wickets. Will do a world of good for his confidence."
Guruprasad: "Sachin Tendulkar is my MoM for playing in this match!"
"@Sid: Sixes in Tests this year... A batting related Stats in which Dravid appears without Kallis and Tendo in tow. Not sure to have such lists with all three names together often :)," says a reader calling himself (or herself) PublishMyComment.

Darren Sammy: "I'd like to comment the guys in the second innings, if we put two innings together we can pose a challenge to other teams. It was a good fight in the second innings. India showed us how to bat on the track, it called for application." Sammy has lots of praise for Bravo as well.
MS Dhoni is greeted by a huge roar: "It was a long fielding session, we got them out comfortably in the first session, but we saw that the track was getting flatter, there was nothing in it for the bowlers. Umesh can really bow over 140, Ishant also bowled well, the bowlers are hunting as a pack, doesn't matter who is taking the wickets. I think the first innings was perfect, after that it was a patience game. Bravo batted superbly well, supported by Chanderpaul."
And the suspense over who the Man of the Match ends. It's VVS Laxman, Eden Gardens' favuorite. "I've always enjoyed playing at Eden Gardens, it's a special place to play cricket. Hopefully we finish off on a winning note in Mumbai. Rahul is so calm composed at the other end, he just tires out he bowlers, and allows you to play your shots. The surface was a bit slow today, but overall it was a very good Test match wicket. It's a great feeling to see all four of our young Indian bowlers doing so well." Laxman repeatedly praises the fans in Kolkata, getting loud cheers of approval.
Here's Sidharth Monga's report of the day's play. That's wrap up our coverage of the Eden Gardens Test, but in a piece of perfect timing, the SA v Aus has just started. Hop over here for commentary of that game.
