I shall leave you with that, but do read George Binoy's bulletin and stay tuned for Sidharth Monga's piece on Sehwag's record innings. Goodnight and good luck.

It's been a day when India, after producing a Neil Armstrong in Tendulkar, have now got a Buzz Aldrin in Virender Sehwag. Unlike Aldrin, though, everyone will remember who Sehwag is.

Sehwag: "I was cheering for Sachin when he got his double-hundred and it's great to emulate that and break his record. I'd love to come back to Madhya Pradesh. The crowd has been great and thanks to them for cheering every run ...

"The pitch was great and allowed you to play your shots. I think you can only get a double-hundred when you're experienced. The last time I played 47 overs I got 175, this time I got 200.

"Rahul Sharma is a good prospect because he bowls at around 90kph and if it stops and turns then it becomes hard for the batsman."

Sehwag is of course Man of the Match.

He also gets a special prize of ten lakhs for reaching the world record. Is that the going rate for a world record?

Sammy: "Sehwag's destroyed bowlers all over the world. We bowled some good balls but he played better shots. The pitch was a belter and we got pegged back by their spinners. But we managed to get past 250. There was some hope because we had seen South Africa chase 400 plus. But they kept taking wickets and that made it hard."

Now for the presentation. Any guesses for the Man of the Match. Somehow the achievement of the double-hundred seems to hit home only when Ravi Shastri booms out what happened

"Well, whether you remember it or not, Sachin's double also yielded the same result- India winning by a margin of 153 runs." Well spotted Sash. India did win by 153 runs in Gawlior

All that will be forgotten though. This match will forever be remembered for Sehwag's 219

Well that was a rather tame end with Ramdin missing a possible maiden hundred. But the story of today is one man. Virender Sehwag. The spinners took nine of the ten wickets with Rahul Sharma taking three wickets on debut and Ravindra Jadeja turning in remarkable figures of 3 for 34 in 10 overs on a pitch where every other bowler took some tap.

"@aniket: In defence to indian team, this west indies team doesn't really have genuine tailenders....they are more like bowling allrounders!!" Kavya, I think Aniket's point is India seem to be treating Mithun and Vinay as batting allrounders. Eight overs between them
