Player of the Match

Taylor gets the trophy from Peter Chingoka, chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket, and holds it up proudly. That brings us to the end of Zimbabwe's comeback Test match, a game in which they outplayed Bangladesh, who will continue to struggle at Test level with a thin bowling attack and an impatient batting line-up. This is Abhishek Purohit signing off on behalf of ESPNcricinfo, been great to have all your feedback throughout the five days. Join us for the ODI series that begins on Friday. Good bye.

Medallions for all the officials and the players now. Chris Mpofu is smiling broadly as he comes up to collect his medal. Couple of players still have the flag around themselves.

Brendan Taylor is the Man of the Match. Taylor: "Great honour to lead a wonderful bunch of guys, all the hard work we put in came good. Lot of credit to Grant Flower and the rest of the coaching stuff, all the guys have a good work ethic, we have played a lot of cricket actually, and no surprises really. We have played a lot against Bangladesh, our preparation against Australia A was good, no reason why we would come here and think we could not win. Happy to get the team into a winning position, credit to Taibu and Ervine for playing the supporting role, we should good character to come back from 92 for 4 on the third day. We will keep trying to improve in the ODI series and leading up to the Pakistan series."

Shakib Al Hasan: "I thought we did not bat well, it was a good wicket to bat on, although we did not bowl well, we are disappointed with the batting. We had good preparation at home, we should have scored more in the first innings and then showed more patience. We thought if we could bat two sessions today, we could set it up but we kept losing wickets. Disappointing for all of us, hopefully we will turn it around in the ODIs."

Hang on for the presentation

Zimbabwe are in a huddle on the field. They have so much to be proud of. Debutant opener, debutant new-ball bowlers, and they have all showed so much potential, Vitori and Jarvis have been superb, ten wickets between them, they will test much better batting line-ups if they keep developing. Brendan Taylor, what a game he has had, century on captaincy debut, he had another one for the taking in the first innings before he played a rash shot. He caught superbly in the slips, and to top it all, surprised everyone with a declaration at tea with Zimbabwe only five wickets down. Hamilton Masakadza, it was he who set up the game for his side with his first Test century since that memorable one on debut a decade ago.

Some of the Zimbabwe players are draped in the national flag, now they are taking a victory lap around the ground with the flag.

Firdose Moonda, our correspondent from the ground: "I have never seen a team so overjoyed to win a Test. They are playing a traditional zim song on the speakers, shona language. And people are just going bananas, there are vuvuzelas as well. "

Shan: "4 debutants, 2 100s, 2 four-wicket hauls... what a comeback Test!"

roger: "the celebrations are just crazy here at harare sports club...people are running around like mad all around me...we cant believe our team has done so well this match.."

cricketator: "Bangladesh's new coach must be a disapointed man. His main challenge is to develop patience in BD batsmen."

shafi: "Bangladesh have to stop tall talking. Its really bad habit and make opponent more serious to prove."

Zimbabwe are standing on the cusp of what will be an emotional win on Test return. Bangladesh caved in after Ashraful departed in the face of lovely swing bowling from Vitori, who was labelled 'ordinary' by Tamim yesterday. Join us at 12.40 local time to see how soon Zimbabwe can finish this innings.

Frustrated is true to his name: "Kudos to Zimbabwe for pulling of this win after six years in oblivion and I never thought I would say this (being a Bangladeshi), what an utter joke we are as a test team." They really don't have the bowling to compete at Test level, the batsmen are under pressure all the time
