15.2 Broad strikes again! Parthiv had profited from the pull shot in this innings, but it has now led to his dismissal. This wasn't quite short enough for the shot, but he went through with it, looking to mow the ball in the air over midwicket. Bopara got himself underneath the swirling chance, tumbling to the ground as he took the chance 70/2
13.3 gone! Broad strikes in his first over. He aimed for a surprise yorker, and Rahane played over the top of what turned out to be a low, dipping full toss. Broad appeals, the umpire's finger quickly goes up. Strangely, Rahane never really looked comfortable in this innings. 65/1

25.5 and that is the end of Rahul as well, two in the over for Swann, tosses it up very full, Rahul pushes in the air from the crease, and the ball carries to Swann who takes a sharp low catch tumbling forward, trouble for India 110/4
25.2 Swann strikes, off his second ball, loose from Virat, trying to dab late against the turn, and gets the edge through to the keeper, Swann tossing it up on a length, and found some extra bounce which ultimately did Virat in 109/3
49.4 what a catch from Stokes! Raina chipped a drive inside out over cover, the ball pinging right out of the middle. Stokes initially moved to his left, looking to protect the boundary, but then sensed that it was a catchable chance and sprinted forward, diving to hold the ball inches from the turf. Finn finally finds some reward! 279/5

5.1 oh dear me, Cook has hit this one straight to extra cover, he won't like to see that replay, length ball sitting up, some extra bounce but nothing alarming, Cook goes at it a touch half-heartedly and spoons it to extra cover, RP takes off, he is delighted 27/2
3.6 India have got Kieswetter, he comes down the track looking for the big carve over mid off, the ball bounces a touch more as RP bangs it short of a length and he gets it off the outer half high in the air over the infield, gravity took an age in working over it but Jadeja runs back from extra cover and settles under it very well 21/1

12.1 Trott is gone, PK gets some reward for being around that off stump always, Trott trying to create some pace on the pull, the length was not at all short, and the inside edge has done the damage as it clatters in to the stumps 61/3
32.1 the partnership is broken! Bell was looking so comfortable but he's just tried to do too much with this one. It was tossed up, on middle and off, and he came down the track and chipped an in-out drive over the covers ... or so it seemed. He actually hit it too well, as the ball carried out to wide long-off, where Manoj Tiwary - on as a sub - sprinted forward and to his left and clung onto a diving catch 159/4
48.5 Munaf does it for India again, and Ravi Bopara falls at the doorstep of glory, it is Ravindra Jadeja who redeems himself at the deep midwicket boundary with a well-judged leaping high take, Bopara had bent the knee and swung Munaf high over midwicket, but found Jadeja, India are rejoicing in the huddle, they have come back from the brink, they had almost fallen off, a dejected Bopara has to walk back, tragic end to a brave innings 270/8
35.2 and he's gone next ball! Ashwin followed up with a much, much slower ball that just hung in the air. Stokes stepped forward and tried to work, against the spin, into the leg side, but the ball gripped, spun and took the leading edge, presenting the bowler with a very easy caught-and-bowled chance. India are taking control of this match. 173/5

42.1 and does his side a huge favour with rain approaching with a wicket first ball, the angle that worked so well on the last tour of England for him works again, angled in sharply in to the right hander on a length, he is pegged back, tries to run it down belatedly, misses, and RP uproots off stump 220/6
48.4 Munaf has run out Swann in pouring rain! drama at Lord's, Swann danced down the track, but could not get hold of this one, it trickled on to the pitch, Munaf charged for it even as England scampered for the run, got to the ball right under Swann's nose, wheeled around and fired in the throw at the non-striker's, he even hit 270/7
