- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR11.6 that is the end of Mukund! Ravi Rampaul it is again, who bowls him off an inside edge, it was bowled closer to off, a lot closer and had Mukund pushing forward, but he went to force it through extra cover and found leg stump out of its ground off a huge inside edge, West Indies have removed the openers for very little, India have a lot of work up ahead 30/23.5 there goes Vijay, driving in the air, and that brings about his downfall, front foot does not come out to the pitch of the ball and he ends up pushing uppishly, ball travels comfortably to Bishoo at backward point, this shot has served him well ... in the IPL, he is gone now though 15/126.6 Dravid had got a start, which is nothing new, but he has thrown it away, which is something unusual, similar dismissal to Laxman's, again Bishoo threw it up in the air, full enough for Dravid to launch in to the forcing drive and slip gets more catching practice, Dravid is disappointed, waves the bat in frustration as he walks back 83/522.1 and he strikes first ball, Laxman edges to slip, gently flighted and lures Laxman in to a loose drive, did not get the feet moving much, well, he never does that a lot anyways, the ball turned sharply from off stump and took the edge to go at a very comfortable height to slip, West Indies weren't expecting this one, they are delighted 64/325.3 that is the end of Virat's debut innings, he is gone nibbling at one outside off and Baugh has gobbled up the appetiser before lunch, was some distance from Virat, not much need to play at it, but for once Virat pressed forward, and got so close to the ball that he had to play at it, and ended up getting a healthy edge through to the keeper, a happy bunch of West Indians will take lunch, 69/461.2 that is the end of the Indian innings, Raina has found Bishoo on the deep square leg boundary, got too much across to the back of a length ball and pulled it straight to Bishoo who has timed his leap neatly to pluck the ball 246/1028.2 Bishoo is on a roll and the men around him have edges flying towards them, Dhoni has departed to a nothing shot, half-forward to a tossed up ball, just pushing the bat out, the ball gripped and bounced high, Dhoni could do nothing as it took the shoulder of the bat and lobbed up towards gully 85/656.2 what a catch from Bishoo, West Indies are celebrating, Harbhajan was set up for the hook and has fallen to that shot, it was a bouncer way outside off, Bhajji could not resist for once and went for the hook instinctively, the edge swirled in front of deep square leg from where Bishoo ran in with gusto, the ball seemed to be dying on him but he dived to his left while running to take the catch, superb take, Harbhajan has the look of a man who has thrown away a hundred 231/758.2 that is plumb, and PK is gone, he shuffled across to a quick inswinging delivery that beat him for pace and angle, right in front of middle and leg and he is a goner 236/860.4 that is the end of Mishra, who is disappointed at the decision, the short ball has got him, he could do nothing about it, it just climbed in to him and kept getting bigger and bigger, he tried to fend it away, but got a glove on it from where it lobbed to first slip, wonder why Mishra was looking so cross, he had no reason to be, maybe it was a bit of arm guard as well 246/9Extras9 (b 1, lb 2, nb 6)TOTAL246 all out (61.2 Overs, RR: 4.01)Fall of wickets: 1-15 (Murali Vijay, 3.5 ov), 2-30 (Abhinav Mukund, 11.6 ov), 3-64 (VVS Laxman, 22.1 ov), 4-69 (Virat Kohli, 25.3 ov), 5-83 (Rahul Dravid, 26.6 ov), 6-85 (MS Dhoni, 28.2 ov), 7-231 (Harbhajan Singh, 56.2 ov), 8-236 (Praveen Kumar, 58.2 ov), 9-246 (Amit Mishra, 60.4 ov), 10-246 (Suresh Raina, 61.2 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR36.6 No. 1 for PK, and what a beauty to get it with. Harbhajan and Ishant ruffle up his hair. There will be criticism of lack of pace for him, but if he can bowl more of these... This angled in towards off in the air, pitched back of a length, and then swung away. He had to play at it, and the edge is taken by Dhoni. Welcome to Test cricket, PK. Well played, AB 91/39.4 Ishant has struck, he had been trying for this one with the man at short leg all along, Simmons shuffled and looked to work one from the pads but got an inside edge on to pad, and it tamely lobbed to short leg 18/121.1 ... and he gets the inswinger right first ball, and gets another wicket! One of the best umpires in the world, Ian Gould, calls Sars's bluff of pretending to play at it belatedly. The ball swings in, Sarwan plants the front foot outside off, but when he sees it swinging in, he thinks of bringing the bat down, but the ball hits the pad way before the bat comes down. The umpire has ruled that he wasn't playing a shot, which takes care of the impact outside off. And the Hawkeye says it would have hit the top of off 35/238.3 And PK takes another! Beautful delivery again. He has tested Bravo with outswingers, which come into him, but this one leaves him after shaping to move in. The line is so good, just outside off, that it makes him play at it. Kisses the outside edge 95/460.1 Stop the press! It has taken Harbhajan 574 balls at Shiv to get him out, but he has finally done it, at a good time for India. Extra bounce again and as Shiv goes deep into the crease, it takes the inside edge onto the thigh pad and lobs for an easy catch 152/842.1 PK is on a roll here. Not the greatest of shots, but he will take it. This is pitched around leg, just short of driving length, Nash plays across the line, and square of the wicket. The leading edge settles with Raina at third slip 102/556.2 Harbhajan strikes. He hasn't been great today, but this is bowled well. Scrambled seam, fullish, there is some drift, Baugh defends at it uncertainly, and it hits his pad first, and then takes the bat through to silly point 147/659.3 Is there reverse? Ishant his the ball this time after seeing the previous ball jag back in, and bowls it real full, and the ball swings in. And yes, towards the shiny side. Sammy is loose, and the ball goes through the gate. Real smart thinking from Ishant. And with that wicket, Shiv has seen more wickets fall at the other end than any other batsman in the world 148/767.3 Mishra's googly consumes another West Indian on this tour. This was short and wide, Fidel thought he could cut it, but not only did this come back in, it bounced too, taking the top edge through to Dhoni. Good, sharp catch 169/967.5 and an early tea it will be... Bishoo is in no mood to fight it out with the bat. After that loose drive first ball he tries to pull the second. Is hurried into it because it is not quite that short. And all he manages is a lob to midwicket 173/10Extras8 (b 1, lb 3, nb 4)TOTAL173 all out (67.5 Overs, RR: 2.55)Fall of wickets: 1-18 (Lendl Simmons, 9.4 ov), 2-35 (Ramnaresh Sarwan, 21.1 ov), 3-91 (Adrian Barath, 36.6 ov), 4-95 (Darren Bravo, 38.3 ov), 5-102 (Brendan Nash, 42.1 ov), 6-147 (Carlton Baugh, 56.2 ov), 7-148 (Daren Sammy, 59.3 ov), 8-152 (Shivnarine Chanderpaul, 60.1 ov), 9-169 (Fidel Edwards, 67.3 ov), 10-173 (Devendra Bishoo, 67.5 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR24.3 Mukund loses his patience! What did he have during the drinks break? It is the quicker ball, he rocks back to cut, manages only a thick edge through to the keeper 56/21.2 Oo la la! Interesting stuff. After extra bounce from a good-length area, we now have a shooter from half-way down the pitch. Vijay couldn't possibly have done anything about this one. Caught dead in plumb, and has a bemused looks on his face 0/194.5 Dravid is gone! Slog-sweeps, there is extra bounce, and the top edge goes only as far as mid-on. Had he connected it sweetly, this would have been the first time he would have hit two sixes in one Test innings 252/1025.5 Laxman is stunned, and Sammy has somehow found a way to take a wicket. This is a gentle half-volley, Laxman looks for a wristy flick, but it goes back to Sammy who takes a good reflex catch. It's not even off the front edge, more like the outside half 57/344.3 Soft dismissal! Short ball, aimed into the ribs, but headed down the leg side, Kohli flirts with it, and West Indies' appeal for a catch down the leg side is spontaneous. Harper agrees, and a disappointed Kohli goes back. Did he show dissent? Were there any grounds for dissent? We know not yet... Can't tell at all from these replays. As an aside, these are the incidents where DRS becomes ineffective if there is no Hot Spot. Makes no sense to have DRS without proper technology 100/462.2 Gone! Bishoo gets one! Raina is not impressed... and this one doesn't look too good. Flat delivery on the pads, Raina goes for the sweep, and is hit high on the pad, after which the ball lobs up. Umpire Harper reckons there is some bat or glove involved. Off the first replay, I am not quite sure. Dravid gently pats Raina on his way back. Replays show no glove. Raina's pad, on the way to Baugh's thigh pad, and then through to Sammy at leg slip 148/566.6 Gone! Dhoni has been positive because he knows he doesn't have the technique to defend on this wicket. But this time there is extra bounce on this short delivery, and he gets the top edge on the cut, a simple catch for square-cover. So well done Bishoo, coming onto bowl after that sore knee had him off the field. During the lunch, replays showed that Bishoo's back foot might have cut the side crease when he got Dhoni out. So that could have been a no-ball 166/674.4 that across movement has proven to be Harbhajan's downfall. Moves well across again, on the crease, and Sammy slips in a slightly fuller one, which seams in a bit, hits him over the knee roll, and Harper takes him time before ruling him out. The replays suggest this would have bounced over the stumps. Sammy doesn't mind it, he is on the floor celebrating 183/774.6 What a poor shot with the No. 3 on 80 not out! This is the second ball he is facing, and with cement feet, he goes for a whip lash, misses the ball by a week. The middle stump is gone. I know he is a bowler, but some consideration for the other man who has worked hard for more than five hours... 183/891.5 Mishra has fallen 10 minutes before tea. Overconfidence perhaps, but Mishra has played a very good hand. It's a short and wide delivery, there to be hit, and he upper-cuts it, straight down third man's throat. He is disappointed, but he will have to walk off 239/9Extras19 (b 8, lb 2, nb 9)TOTAL252 all out (94.5 Overs, RR: 2.65)Fall of wickets: 1-0 (Murali Vijay, 1.2 ov), 2-56 (Abhinav Mukund, 24.3 ov), 3-57 (VVS Laxman, 25.5 ov), 4-100 (Virat Kohli, 44.3 ov), 5-148 (Suresh Raina, 62.2 ov), 6-166 (MS Dhoni, 66.6 ov), 7-183 (Harbhajan Singh, 74.4 ov), 8-183 (Praveen Kumar, 74.6 ov), 9-239 (Amit Mishra, 91.5 ov), 10-252 (Rahul Dravid, 94.5 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR10.6 Obviously it hasn't. The horses don't bolt without Dhoni's permission. Wide ball, outsiwnger, Barath goes chasing, too far from him to get a good connection, gets a thick edge, Raina takes a sharp catch at that same third slip. Life doesn't always offer second chances. Ask Sammy. However, when the second chance arrived for Dhoni, he made sure some Indian was there to take it 62/115.1 Timber! Perfect length, perfect line, a fast bowler's delight. Just short - about six inches - of the driving length, holds its line, thus beating the line Simmons is covering, and takes the top of off. Ishant is delighted, and why shouldn't he be? 80/311.3 Poor stuff, extremely poor stuff from the very talented Sarwan. Half-hearted poke at a delivery wide and in front of his body. And Kohli pouches a superb catch at gully, high to his left, like a goalkeeper, as Fazeer Mohammed said on air 63/238.3 Bravo has moved too far across, exposing his leg stump! This is just short of a length, outside off, seaming in, Bravo moves towards it, along the crease, but too far. The ball beats his attempt at fine deflection, and hits the leg pole. PK is elated 148/440.5 PK has breached the ChanderWall. The rare loose drive. Drives at this away from his body, and the ball stops a touch, some dust comes off the pitch, and he is early into the shot, hitting it straight down Raina's lap at cover. It is all over. Chanders falls at 1394 fourth-innings runs, behind only Gavaskar, Dravid and Lara 149/550.6 The grubber gets him! It's a literal low blow. Long hop, Nash shapes up to pull, and it hits him calf-high. Plumb in front 188/843.1 Indeed it's Birthday Boy for zero! Flat offbreak, quick, Baugh stabs at it well in front, bounces at him, and leg slip does the rest 150/648.1 See, see... He has got his first ball! Huge wind-up, the ball dips at him, he drives with an open face, straight down extra cover's throat 181/756.5 Unplayable! Kicks off a short of a length, takes his glove, Dhoni takes a one-handed overhead catch. However, Rampaul is not happy, because this is third bouncer for the over. Definitely in front of his face, and should have been called a no-ball. Rampaul correctly points it out, but they are not reconsidering the decision. Man in the spotlight? A certain Mr Harper again 223/968.2 the straighter one does it. A good lesson for the specialist spinners. It's reminiscent of Saqlain Mushtaq's last ball to Srinath in the Chennai Test of 1999. It's a toppie, which hits the dead bat, and turns towards the stumps after pitching. The off bail is nudged off, and fittingly Dravid lifts the first stump 262/10Extras17 (b 1, lb 13, nb 1, w 2)TOTAL262 all out (68.2 Overs, RR: 3.83)Fall of wickets: 1-62 (Adrian Barath, 10.6 ov), 2-63 (Ramnaresh Sarwan, 11.3 ov), 3-80 (Lendl Simmons, 15.1 ov), 4-148 (Darren Bravo, 38.3 ov), 5-149 (Shivnarine Chanderpaul, 40.5 ov), 6-150 (Carlton Baugh, 43.1 ov), 7-181 (Daren Sammy, 48.1 ov), 8-188 (Brendan Nash, 50.6 ov), 9-223 (Ravi Rampaul, 56.5 ov), 10-262 (Devendra Bishoo, 68.2 ov)
