A 102-run stand between Aamer Sajjad and captain Faisal Iqbal helped Pakistan A seal a series-winning five-wicket victory over West Indies A in a rain-reduced fixture in Grenada.

Overnight rain delayed the start of the game, reducing it to 27 overs per side and chasing 166 Pakistan A's innings got off to a disastrous start with Ravi Rampaul, Jason Holder and Nikita Miller combining to reduce the tourists to 32 for 4 until the fifth-wicket pair took control.

Umair Khan was the first to fall, caught behind off Holder and Sarfraz Ahmed fell soon after. Miller struck twice, trapping Umar Amin, who played four Tests earlier in the year against Australia and England, in front for four before holding on to a return catch off Khurram Manzoor.

At that stage West Indies A looked set to level the series but Sajjad and Iqbal counter-attacked to great effect. Both scored at more than a run-a-ball with Iqbal cracking five fours and two sixes in his 58 before edging behind off Rampaul. At the other end Sajjad was immovable and struck three sixes to finish unbeaten on 70 as he saw his side home.

It was enough to earn him the Man-of-the-Match award and ensured Iqbal's decision to field first paid dividends. West Indies A's batting effort had a chaotic feel to it as three run-outs hampered the top order. Riding high on 82 for 1, Andre Fletcher fell for 43 and was followed by Kieran Powell, run-out by Sajjid soon after for 44. The middle-order failed to get going but some brave swiping from Holder (20 off eight balls) at the end of the innings carried the total to 165. Thanks to Sajjad's heroics, it wasn't enough.
