34.2 Gloved! Or may be from the shoulder of the bat. Sharp catch from MSDhoni. It was a touch quicker, landed on a length around middle and off and turned. Watson leaned forward for the defensive poke but it bounced and turned to catch his gloves. Dhoni does well to adjust quickly and grabs it. Watson falls after giving a good start. 113/2
27.5 Harbhajan roars! Catch no 198 for Rahul. It was the off break just outside off stump, Katich was fresh from that slashed four and perhaps thought he could cut this one to right of backward point for another boundary. Mistake. The ball flew of the outside edge and Rahul swallowed it with his bucket hands at first slip. Katich falls short of 50 but together with Watson, he has given a solid platform. Enter Ricky 99/1
75.2 Raina has removed Ponting, would you believe it! Another conventional offie, lands on and around off stump. Ponting moves across and looks to work it off the pads with the spin and misses. Struck in front of middle and leg. That would have struck leg stump. Ponting is on his way. 256/5
41.4 That typical Harbhajan mode of dismissal. A batsman lunges forward. The ball turns and it goes off bat and pad to a close-in fielder. This one too was similar. Clarke leaned forward to defend; the ball dipped and turned, got the inside edge, fell on the pad and popped up towards backward short-leg. Raina dived forward to grab it with both hands. Good catch. It was dying on him.Clarke is gone, Australia wobbling a touch. 132/3
58.2 And he has edged it to that gully fielder! It was a length delivery outside the off stump, Huss reached out, bat away from the body, and edged his drive to right of gully where Sehwag pouches it. Sehwag made that look very easy. Nice soft hands and good reflex. Hussey was looking to be positive today and had made a breezy 34 but he is gone now. Enter Marcus North who is under pressure to score some runs. 198/4
136.3 North's career-saving innings comes to an end. He has holed out at deep midwicket, in search for quick runs that was the need of the hour. He went for the slog sweep and found Sreesanth. North was under severe pressure at the start of the Test and he has responded with a hundred. 458/8
116.6 Ojha has done him in flight and turn. Fine delivery this. It dipped on Paine who was stretching forward to defend. His back leg went sliding outside the crease as he groped forward to search for the flighted delivery. It gripped and turned and Dhoni removed the bails in a flash. Fine innings comes to an end. Paine has taken Australia to 400. Can Mitch and then the tailenders stay with North long enough? 405/6
118.4 It turned in from outside the off stump and Mitch was caught on the back foot. He went back to defend but couldn't handle the quickish turn and was struck in front of the off stump. North is still out there. Will he get some support or will India run through the tail? 415/7
137.5 Hauritz is run out. Direct from Pujara! It was squeezed out to point region where Pujara makes a diving stop and fires in a throw at the striker's end. The bat slips out of his hand when Hauritz tried to drag it in and he then tried to lurch into the crease but the direct hit found him short of the line. 459/9

100.3 Australia get a wicket. Finally. Mitch breaks through. It was from round the stumps and it was the short-of-length delivery outside off stump. Vijay has a waft; he tries to force it through cover point and gets a thin nick. Madhu: "The 308 run stand is the 2nd highest 3rd wicket stand against Australia level with Viv Richards and Richie Richardson." What a partnership this has been for India. And a special day for Vijay who made his maiden ton today. 346/3
8.2 Sehwag has holed out to deep square-leg! It was the slower bouncer and Sehwag, who was hit on the helmet in the previous delivery, went for the big pull shot. And he couldn't clear the deep square-leg fielder. Hilfenhaus roars! India have lost Sehwag. 37/1
9.6 It will be the sixth time in the last year that Rahul has fallen to the left-arm seamer. It was all set up perfectly. Johnson hurled it full and outside off and Rahul went for his drive. Mistake. Edge and gone! Ponting leaps in joy. India wobbling. Enter SRT. 38/2

136.5 And his marathon vigil ends. Peter George's first Test wicket. So many of you had predicted yesterday that it will be the new comer Peter George who will take SRT's wicket. It didn't happen immediately; it came off the 363rd ball that Tendulkar faced. What an innings this. This is how it ended: The ball was full and outside off, Tendulkar didn't move his feet, he just bent his knees and squatted for the square drive. The ball reversed in with the shiny side and he got a fatal inside edge. Fab knock ends. Tendulkar has propelled India towards 500 486/6
100.6 That's a shooter! It has kept low and that lack of bounce has trapped Pujara. It's been given out lbw though I think it would have missed the leg stump. May be not. The replays say I am wrong; and that it would have hit the leg stump. It was delivered from wide of the crease round the stumps and it came in. It kept really low as it shot across towards a surprised Pujara who crouched and tried to get some bat in the way. He couldn't. The finger goes up. He looks at the umpire and slowly trudges off. A four and then he is gone. He waited for 6 hours to get to bat for India and he couldn't stay in for long. Cruel game and all that. Hawk Eye says it would have hit the leg stump. Ah! 350/4
115.3 Just before this delivery Ricky Ponting ( I can't confirm whether the bowler told him) brought the long-on inside the circle. Raina decides to take up the challenge. He rushed down the track for the big hit to long-on but he dragged it straight to mid-on where Hilfenhaus threaten to spill it but managed to hold on. 411/5
144.2 Hauritz takes a wicket. Finally. He pumps his fist. Very quiet celebration. Dhoni went down the track and then lunged out to push it to the off side. The ball dipped on him and didn't turn as much as he thought. It clipped the outer edge and went to first slip 495/9
137.4 Bat and pad! Done in by the reverse swing. It tailed in late, took the edge of the attempted flick, hit the pad and popped up to short midwicket. 491/7
140.1 Another one gone. India lead by 16 and are in the middle of a mini-collapse. Zaheer went for the drive and hit it straight to short cover. Simple catch. 494/8

144.5 given out lbw or bat and pad? It turned in from outside the off stump, went past the prod, and hit the pad on the middle stump line and goes to short-leg. It would have hit the leg stump. India lead by just 17 runs. Game on! The last five wickets have fallen for nine runs! 495/10

16.4 Trapped! It lands on the off and middle line and straightens. Watson leans forward to defend and is struck on the pad. It would have crashed into the off stump. Gone! just as our reader, Jeevan, said it would happen, Watto is gone. 58/1
17.1 Sharp catch from Dhoni. Harbhajan has removed Katich in both the innings. Just like how Ojha took out Watto twice. This one was from round the stumps and it drifted in a bit but was still well outside the off stump.. Katich however leaned across to defend and the ball spun away and took the edge of the defensive prod. Dhoni moved his hands quickly to the left to take that. 58/2
59.3 Fabulous innings comes to an end. Zaheer is the man who terminates it. It was the full delivery that landed on the off and middle line and straightened. Ponting went forward and across - perhaps pushed his front pad too far across- and tried to get his bat around the pad. Too late. The ball thuds into the pad. Was it missing off? Was it hitting off? Replays show that it would have hit the off stump. Indians roar in the stands and in the middle. What a knock this from Punter. It was a treat. Questions will be asked why Dhoni kept Zaheer out for so long. No questions will be asked about Ponting today. Remember, he had a second-innings average of 8.2 in India before this game. 181/6
22.2 Stumped! Clarke doesn't even know he has been stumped. Amazing. He leaned forward to defend and ended up stretching his back leg to the line. And froze there. The ball had dipped and turned past the edge. Very fine delivery that. Clarke just held his position. He didn't realise his back leg was on the line. Dhoni did. Game over! Clarke was stunned to see the Indians celebrate, looks back in horror to see his back leg, then gets a confirmation from the square-leg umpire. 65/3
40.2 Huss falls. The game turns again. It was from round the stumps, it drifted across to the off-stump line, dipped on a length and turned in. Hussey leaned forward to defend and the ball spun past the edge and hit the pad in frontt of the middle. The question is whether it would have missed the leg. It would have hit the leg stump I reckon. Let's wait for the replays. Height wasn't in question; it was hit well below the knee roll. Replays in. Update: "Hawk eye says it would have missed the leg stump. 126/4
43.4 Bowled! It drifted in from round the stumps, landed on the leg stump line and turned to hit the off. North was caught at the crease, he should have taken a step forward. he didn't. He stuttered and tried to waft it across the line to the leg side. mistake. The ball spun away to move past the prod and fell on the off stump. 131/5
60.5 Sreesanth roars. Harbhajan is out there so quickly to hug him! The ball was full and reversed away with the shiny side and Paine edges his drive. Dhoni lunged to his right to take it 185/7

75.2 Done in by the bouncer. Peter G fends at it and the ball goes of the gloves to Dhoni who takes it lunging forward. That's Dhoni's 150th dismissal. 223/10

15.2 lbw! Watson pitches on a good length around middle stump. He's bowled that with a scrambled seam and the ball cuts away from the right-hander off the pitch. Vijay plays off the back foot and tries to defend. He plays inside the line and gets hit on the knee roll of the right pad. Plumb. 89/2
2.2 And he is gone now. What a moment this. He was dropped by Huss last over but he is gone now. It kicked up from short of length and curved away from the off-stump line. Sehwag opened the bat-face and tried to steer it past gully. The ball flew to right of Paine who lunges to his right to take a very good catch. The game splits wide open. 17/1

28.6 Done in by the straight one! It landed on the off stump line and went on straight. Pujara played for the turn and pushed inside the line. The ball skidded on to hit the off stump. Hauritz pumps his fist. What a knock, though. You wait five years for the call from selectors. You keep scoring runs. You finally get that call. You wait for six hours to bat and you get a grubber, a shooter. You then get promoted ahead of your idol Rahul Dravid in the second innings. And play a super knock. Sometimes, dreams do come true.
