- Angelo Mathews27 (31)
- Kumar Sangakkara17 (25)
- Kyle Mills2/17 (4)
- Scott Styris3/10 (3)
Scott Styris is MoM, a day before his wedding in Fiji He says: "Wasn't too bad, this wicket suited me. Not to different from most of wickets in Caribbean. Leaving the team because I have a wedding back in Fiji... she is a very lucky girl." Good on ya Scottie. Good note to end this match on. Cheers
Daniel Vettori "Not much of a total, but we bowled well on a difficult. terrific start from Kyle Mills. We bowl well on these wickets, and the big boundary helped us too, you can't just hit a couple of sixes any time."
Kumar Sangakkara "They got a great start, they pushed us back in the first six overs, and New Zealand were a bit more disciplined than us, both with the bat in the field."
Not the ideal wicket for a first international match in a new country. Timing the ball was extremely difficult here: it kept low and slow throughout, and New Zealand got the better of the conditions here. Only 13 fours and two sixes in the whole match. Surely even the bowlers would have struggled to get wickets here if the batsmen were not under the pressure to go after them. So overall not a good debut for the US. Do stay back for presentation
