Chris Gayle: "Batting was the problem. Credit must go to the bowlers who bowled well on the first day. We let things slip on the second day and then we didn't bat well. The opening and no 3 - is something we will be looking at. We just have to get runs on the board. We senior batters have to take the responsibility. Credit to South Africa who have bowled well on this track. It's a young team, we had two debutants in this game as well. Shillingford did well. Benn did well He has been our key bowler."

Smith: "We have won in three and half days. I am very happy. We had to graft hard today. In the first innings we got the ball to reverse swing and that's what we wanted to do. We didn't take the follow-on because the two seamers had bowled big spells just before that. I also felt that the wicket will deteriorate further. We have a day off, we can put our feet up by the pool and watch the football."

Man of the match is DAle Steyn: "The bowling was hard actually. Morne bowled fantsatically in the first and everyone chipped in the second. Personally, I am happy to acheive that landmark (200 wickets). I am just blessed with my pace and I am skiddy. (on his batting - > Some one had to score runs in the tail- me, Morne have put our time in the nets and its showing now."

That's it from us. Thanks for turning up.

Steyn to Pascal, OUT, South Africa crush West Indies with a day to spare. It was a length delivery outside off stump and Pascal tries to play a flamboyant swat-pull - he was out playing the same shot in the first innings - and ended up edging it to the stumps. SA win by 163 runs. Comprehensive. SA lead the three-game series 1-0.

Steyn to Pascal, FOUR, Wicked. Very wicked from Pascal. It was a full delivery on the middle, shaping away but Pascal plays a lovely whippy flick past square-leg!

  • Hard work pays off for Morne Morkel

There is nothing more satisfying for a cricketer than when hard work in practice pays off and for Morne Morkel that moment came in the first Test against West Indies in Trinidad

  • Batting let us down - Gayle

It was a familiar refrain from West Indies captain Chris Gayle, as he put the blame squarely on his team's batsmen after losing the first Test to South Africa by 163 runs at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain

  • South Africa complete crushing win

What was a rout on day three was harder graft on day four as South Africa's fast bowlers, for the second time in as many days, worked their way through the West Indies line-up to deliver a comprehensive 163-run victory

  • Steyn and Morkel put South Africa on top

South Africa ended the third day at the Queen's Park Oval in a position of total dominance thanks to the fearsome bowling combination of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel

  • Boucher and Benn share honours on tight day

Sulieman Benn picked up his second five-wicket haul in Tests, finishing with 5 for 120 as South Africa were eventually bowled out for 352, but the visitors will feel they had the better of an attritional second day at the Queens Park Oval
