Close A great recovery from New Zealand after the Twenty20 drubbings. They outplayed England in every department on a sluggish pitch. England never got their innings going, largely because of tight bowling and enthusiastic fielding, and some of the running between the wickets was dire. It's hard to defend 130 and once the NZ openers had got them off to a good start, the rest was little more than going through the formalities.

The two Andrews - McGlashan and Miller - will be back for the second ODI in Hamilton on Tuesday (2.00pm / 0100GMT) but in the meantime thanks for sticking with us and for all your emails, and it's goodnight from Martin Williamson and Will Luke.

Broad to Taylor, 1 run, and that's it, but a horrible swish through mid-on to seal the win

The crowd are cheering every swipe and it appears to have got to him!

Broad to Taylor, no run, a big swing, a big miss and the ball heads past the off stump to Mustard

Broad to Taylor, no run, short, he pulls out of an intended swipe to leg quite late on

Stay with us ... it's almost over ...

Broad to Fulton, 1 run, a loose drive, the ball keeps low, takes the edge and bumbles to third man

Broad to Taylor, 1 run, heaved to deep square leg

Broad to Taylor, no run, hit on the pads so far outside the line that you could see all three stumps behind him ... but Broad still yells a loud and long appeal
