England 208 for 7 (Morgan 77) beat New Zealand 206 for 8 (Kember 64) by three wickets
Scorecard
England's women secured a consolation victory in the sixth and final ODI against New Zealand at Shenley, as Nicky Shaw and Isa Guha kept their cool in a tense final over to win by three wickets with one ball to spare.
After winning the toss and fielding, England were given early impetus when Shaw removed Suzie Bates for 6, before Guha's double-strike accounted for Sara McGlashan and Haidee Tiffin. But Ros Kember anchored the innings with a steady 64, and Nicola Browne slugged two sixes in a 35-ball 38 not out to boost the total.
In reply, England were given a swift start as Sarah Taylor cracked four fours in a 23-ball 20, but it was Beth Morgan - boosted up the order to open - who was the mainstay of the innings, batting two-and-a-half hours for her 77 from 130 balls. It was easily her highest ODI total, and her first fifty. She was fifth out with the score on 167, and when Jenny Gunn fell soon afterwards for 27, England were in a bit of trouble at 170 for 6.
But Shaw took up the cudgels with an unbeaten 24, with support from Caroline Atkins (11) and Guha (2 not out), as the series was concluded 3-2 in New Zealand's favour.
