5.6 And this time he's got him! It's another yorker, and this one is bang on the money. Draws Nissanka into the drive and it tails in right at the end, past the inside edge and clatters into the base of off stump. Nissanka slumps to his knees, knowing he's thrown this one away 33/2
3.6 Edged and gone! Brilliantly worked from O'Rourke. Another one that's banged in, it angles in but shape away. The extra bounce was always likely to prove uncomfortable for Karunaratne, and all he can do his fend at this. Takes the edge and it's easy work for Blundell 20/1
28.4 Taken brilliantly by midwicket! Disastrous start for Sri Lanka after the break, as Chandimal has gotten out to a fairly soft dismissal all told. This was a length ball on the pads, and Chandimal looks to clip this through square leg. He can't keep it down though and it's the sub fielder Bracewell that dives to his right to hold on to a smart catch 88/3
55.3 edged and gone! Mathews falls on the stroke of tea, and it is O'Rourke with the breakthrough again! Back of a length outside off. Seems to hold its line, rather than coming into Mathews, and he is enticed into poking at it away from his body. Feathers it through to Blundell, who makes no mistake and the Kiwis are jubilant. The ploy to bring O'Rourke back has worked a charm and their tea will taste much better now! 178/5
86.1 massive turn out of the rough, and that was probably the only way the Kiwis could have dismissed Kamindu Mendis! Fizzed in on a back of a length outside off. Takes a good chunk of the footmarks and explodes off the surface. Sharp spin into Kamindu, coupled with extravagant bounce. Kamindu, shaping for the cut, only manages a glove that spoons up for Mitchell to snaffle. A remarkable innings comes to an end, and the dressing room stands up to applaud Kamindu as he makes his way back! 302/7
34.2 And he's got DDS with a ripper! My word, what a delivery. This was tossed up outside off, there was a bit of dip as DDS was lured into the drive, before it just spun right through the gate to clip the top of off 106/4
78.2 oh dear - what has happened here?! A freak dismissal, and Kusal Mendis cannot believe it! Shortish on middle and leg. Kusal hops back and plays the short-arm jab. Hits it slightly uppishly, though, and straight into Latham, who takes evasive action. The ball pops up off his body and Southee, stationed at short mid wicket, is alert enough to pounce forward and effect the dismissal. Kusal has a wry smile as he walks off, and that is a wicket out of nothing for the Kiwis! 281/6
91.1 Sri Lanka are folding quickly this morning! O'Rourke produces another quick and full one, seams in from just outside off and traps Ramesh on the front pad. There's a review, but it's a hopeful one. And yes, replays confirm that there is to be no reprieve. Sri Lanka are nine down 305/9
90.4 Traps him in front! Jayasuriya has gone upstairs, but this looked pretty plumb. It was a good length, pitching on off and straightening down the line. Jayasuriya opts to go deeper in his crease when he ought to have come forward, and ends up getting rapped on the back pad. Three reds confirms the bad news for Jayasuriya and Sri Lanka lose their eighth. 303/8

91.5 Swings, misses and gone! Asitha never looked like he was going to hang about long, and seems like he knew it too. Skips down the track and has a wild swing. Completely misses and the top of leg stump is disturbed. Sri Lanka are bowled out for 305, and O'Rourke ends with a five-for! 305/10

38.4 Latham falls, moments before tea, and Jayasuriya has the breakthrough Sri Lanka were craving! Tossed up full outside off and Latham, like he has done all day, looks for the sweep. This one, though, sticks in the surface just enough and bounces extra. Latham gets a tame top edge that spoons up towards backward square leg. Samarawickrama judges it to perfection, sprawls forward and completes the catch. Tea has been taken as well and that will make the Sri Lankans feel much better! 136/2
18.4 big lbw appeal, not given! That looked very close, and SL have reviewed instantly! Flighted up nicely on a full length on off. Seems to come in with the angle and Conway plays all over it. Gets struck on the front pad and that looks mighty close. Replays confirm no bat is involved and the ball, in fact, straightened. This could be it for Conway. Ball Tracking comes up and...returns with three reds, with the ball smashing into middle and off! Ramesh Mendis breaks through! 63/1
52.4 oh, what a catch by Kusal Mendis and DDS gets the better of Kane Williamson! Tossed up full and into the rough outside leg. Williamson looks to work it away but the ball holds just enough in the surface. Williamson also might have closed his bat face early, which resulted in the ball looping up off the leading edge. Mendis still had plenty to do but he did so beautifully, lunging forward and snaring it with his right mitt, inches off the turf. A huge moment in the game! 187/3
54.5 oh dear - Ravindra has been cleaned up after leaving a straight one! Angled in fuller in the channel just outside off. Ravindra thinks this is going to spin and shoulders arms. However, he watches on in disbelief as the ball comes in with the arm and knocks back off stump. DDS is delighted and leaps into the air in celebration; Ravindra punches his bat in frustration, and this game could now be turning! 196/4
81.3 Oh how close is this? Sri Lanka think they've got their man. And indeed they have, Mitchell is gone run out! This was a simply back foot punch towards cover, but the ball goes to the man much quicker than Mitchell expects. They look to take the run, but the throw is an excellent one to Mendis, who whips the bails off and finds Mitchell short by a few inches. Massive breakthrough for the Lankans 291/6
75.6 Caught at slip! But the umpire is unmoved. Sri Lanka review. Blundell looked to reverse sweep here and it was a clear deflection, straight to slip. Question is, was this bat, glove or arm? The bat certainly hit the ground, no ball near it though. But there is a spike on Ultra Edge as the ball passes the glove, and Sri Lanka have the breakthrough! Blundell can't believe he's hit that, but just as the bat hits the ground is when the ball shaves the glove, which means he probably didn't feel it. 269/5

81.5 And Sri Lanka have another! This is a length ball that skids through outside off, Santner goes back and has a poke but he can only manage a thick edge with Mendis does well to snaffle up 293/7
83.5 And now Southee pays the price! Top of off is disturbed! Southee wasn't reading the length and this one was way too full to be cutting. It skids through and rocks off stump as Southee misses the cut 297/8
84.6 Ajaz falls eventually! Another big appeal, and this time the finger goes up! Ajaz though reviews. This was the arm ball, good length and striking the front pad in line. There's no bat involved this time and ball tracking shows that it's going to hit the top of middle stump. New Zealand lose nine 304/9
90.5 castled, and that will be that for this innings! Fizzed through nicely on a full length outside off. Seems to drift away just a shade and that takes it outside the line O'Rourke is defending. The ball then spins back enough to beat the outside edge and clip the outside of off stump. Muted celebrations from the hosts - they know they have given away too many towards the end, but given where they were at the start of the day, they will not mind conceding just a 35-run lead! 340/10

2.5 oh, put a cape on Tim Southee! The Black Caps skipper, now morphing into the Kiwi who can fly! Back of a length in the channel just outside off. O'Rourke extracts extra bounce off the surface and gets it to hold its line a shade, opening up Nissanka completely. The ball kisses the shoulder of the bat and hurtles to Southee's right at second slip. The ball seems to be behind him until.....he throws out his right paw and plucks it out of thin air. A catch of the highest order, and New Zealand have the early breakthrough. Created by O'Rourke, finished off magnificently by their skipper! 6/1
47.1 Patel gets the breakthrough! He's been threatening the rough outside the left-hander's off stump for several overs now. This time Dimuth goes for the sweep and this sneaks under the bat and rattles the stumps, he's gone for 83 153/2
48.2 And the leg slip in action straight away! Brilliant planning from the kiwis! This was full and straight, and Chandimal can't resist just flicking it away. Ends up flying straight to the man just stationed at leg slip, maybe even leg gully 153/3
87.3 And just like that he's gone! It's another quality delivery from Ajaz, who gets this one to dip on off, much slower at 76kph, before turning away just enough to grab the edge on the forward defence. Daryl Mitchell at first slip has down well to grab this centimetres from the ground. Just about gets the fingers underneath 292/7
52.3 edged and gone! O'Rourke rocks Sri Lanka again! Full and wide outside off, tempting Kamindu to throw his hands at it. He takes up the invitation but the ball moves away just a smidgen. Enough to take a fat outside edge and Mitchell does the rest at wide slip. NZ continue to claw their way back! 178/4
75.4 Beaten again, and this time New Zealand have him! DDS gets a good stride in and looks to drive over extra cover, but again is beaten by the turn away. Crucially though DDS has not been able to keep his back foot from sliding out of the crease, as Blundell whips off the bails in quick time 250/5
83.4 Yet another unfortunate dismissal for Kusal! It's the extra bounce again that does the trick. This was a good length ball pitching just outside off and straightening. Kusal thinks about playing at it before leaving it late. But a touch extra bounce sees this deflect off his elbow - maybe the handle of the bat - and on to the stumps 286/6
91.1 Ajaz gets his fifth! Looks plumb but Sri Lanka want to review this to check if there was a bit of glove in it. Tossed up delivery on the off and middle stump, Mendis puts in a sweep but misses it. UltraEdge confirms there is no bat involved. Three reds light up, Mendis has to depart for 1 301/8
94.2 Santner gets the final wicket! Full delivery outside off, Jayasuriya gets down on knee for a slog sweep but can't get it past O'Rourke at long-on. There was some turn on this. 309/10
91.5 Sixth for Ajaz! Easy for him. Sri Lanka are losing wickets in quick succession here. Full length delivery outside off stump, he throws his bat at it only to be caught at wide mid-off by Williamson. Went against the turn 301/9

22.5 Huge shout for lbw, given! Latham decides not to review this. Tossed up on the stumps, went with the arm as Latham gets hit on the front pad, trying to block. Big wicket for the Sri Lankan skipper in his first over 68/3
1.4 What a delivery! Length delivery from around the wicket, angling in to the left-hander, Conway puts his bat out to defend. Inside-edges this on to the stumps. Not a way to deal with this kind of delivery. There was a lot of gap between bat and pad. Sri Lanka are delighted 6/1
16.2 And Jayasuriya has grabbed Williamson! He's used his feet to great effect today, but this time he doesn't get to the pitch as Jayasuriya sees him coming and shortens the length. Looks to adjust and defend, but it rips past the edge and Mendis does the rest. Williamson looks perplexed after that one 51/2
69.3 And Prabath has struck! But Rachin reviews. This was tossed up on middle and leg and Rachin plays down the wrong line, it's the arm ball. Umpire takes a long time to ponder and raises the finger. Question is, was this pitching outside the line? No it wasn't and Sri Lanka have the breakthrough they desperately wanted! 209/9
32.3 What a ball! There is turn and bounce. Tossed up outside off stump, it spins in sharply to hit Mitchel's back leg before disturbing the top of leg stump. Unplayable delivery. Mitchell was on the backfoot but it zipped through the inside edge quickly 96/4
46.1 And just like that the breakthrough has arrived! Prabath continues with his over the wicket ploy, tossed outside leg. Blundell premeditates the reverse sweep, but this was too full outside leg. Misses it and the ball turns into the stumps 152/5
51.5 Jayasuriya gets Phillips! Great captaincy, as silly mid-off had just moved to second slip. This time he gets the edge on the forward defence and it's taken well at head height 171/6
61.2 Ramesh strikes! Tossed up delivery outside off stump, draws Santner, who was looking impatient, forward for a drive and he hits this straight to short cover, going against the turn. SL three wickets away from the victory 197/7
63.3 Turning a long way, huge appeal for lbw. Umpire is not convinced but Sri Lanka take the review. Fuller outside off, Southee on the backfoot. He is a bit late to react as the ball goes under his bat to hit the back pad after spinning sharply. UltraEdge confirms there is a clear gap between pad and bat. Yes, that would have hit the leg stump. Ramesh gets his third! 203/8
