8.15pm: Time for the presentations... starting with Player of the Match, Amy Jones: "Felt pretty good. Excited to get the opportunity to bat at the top again. Really enjoyed today. [Opening?] I think the chance to go out there and set the tone. I enjoy it in the middle, too, batting anywhere for this team is a privilege! Thought they bowled well at the top, the odd ball doing a bit. Overall a very good wicket to bat on. [Team performance] Quite a few contributed in the end, really happy with that, starting with a win will stand us in good stead."

West Indies captain, Hayley Matthews: "Pretty hard out there for us. The openers batted really well and were disciplined. We weren't able to to find a breakthrough until later on when they were set for a big total. [Shortcomings] Just boundary balls, we were able to bowl a lot of dot balls - but way too many boundary balls though the innings. [Joseph] Really good to see her, didn't have the best start, to come out like that and rectify her tour, it was a big plus for us. Something we need to see more often. Still think we can take positives from today, getting that total with so many young girls in the XI. [Improvements] Keep on developing, tighten up in certain areas."

England captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt: "Feel great, first 50 overs in a while. [Openers] They read conditions really well. It was probably a bit more difficult at the start, bit tacky, but they set us up for a great score. [Smith] She bowled brilliantly, she had to wait to get the ball in her hand but she keeps the pressure on. [Pleased with?] Settling in as quickly as we have and committing to the things we want to do. Could have fielded a bit better. This outfield made it difficult at times but we can't dip on our energy and commitment for that."

Okay, that's a wrap for tonight. Valkerie's report will be with you shortly, and we'll have more to come as the series moves on to Leicester next week. Thanks for your comments, from myself and Shashwat, goodbye!

8.10pm: West Indies gave it a good crack, certainly for the first 15-20 overs - but really, as soon as Hayley Matthews was back in the dressing room, the chances of them pulling off a world-record chase went from slim to none. Qiana Joseph played nicely for her second ODI fifty, but there were too few contributions down the order as Linsey Smith rounded them up with a five-for on debut

Bell to Alleyne, OUT, slower ball, taken at mid-off! Alleyne falls short of fifty, as England secure victory by 108 runs - putting them 1-0 up with two to play. Alleyne hung her head as soon as she made contact, sending the ball high into the air without any distance, well taken by Cross running back
