Scorecard
West Indies A took a 74-run lead over Sri Lanka A on the third day at the Warner Park Stadium. Having dismissed the tourists for 359, a one-run lead, West Indies finished the day on 73 for 3, with Travis Dowlen unbeaten on 40.
Overnight on 202 for 4, Sri Lanka A added 102 for the loss of two wickets in the first session. Thilan Samaraweera, the captain, added 56 for the fifth wicket with Jehan Mubarak (25) before Darren Sammy's three-wicket burst caused a collapse. Samaraweera was unfortunate to miss out on a hundred by just two runs, bowled by Sammy, as Sri Lanka A slipped from 304 for 6 to 332 for 9. Kaushal Silva, the wicketkeeper, then hit 42 from 63 with six fours and was last man out, caught behind by Patrick Browne off Ryan Hinds's left-arm spin just as rain forced both sides off the field just before tea. Hinds finished with 3 for 46 off 17.1 and Sammy 4 for 64 off 26.
Play resumed at 3.45 pm, and West Indies A lost Devon Smith, Sylvester Joseph and Hinds in quick succession. Dowlin, with five boundaries in his innings so far, finished the day in the company of Narsingh Deonarine (6). Gayan Wijekoon, the left-arm medium pacer, and Malinga Bandara, who took four first-innings wickets, had 2 for 29 and 1 for 20 respectively.
