1:00pm And finally. With the rain being relentless and causing the kind of damage it has, the two umpires alongwith the Match Referee have had a look at the conditions a while ago and have decided that no play will be possible today. They have officially called off the game.
However, the good news is that the two cricket boards, the Zimbabwe Cricket Union and the UCB, have had discussions and have decided to replay this match tomorrow. Tomorrow's match will be played as a Day and Night affair - scheduled to start at 2:30pm local time.

12:15pm There is still a slight drizzle here at Buffalo Park and predictions are that it is not going to let up. Umpire Daryl Harper has said that they will have another look in about 90 minutes from now. He almost said, without saying as much, on TV that he sees no chance of the match taking place. The final cut-off is 2.30pm. Our man on the spot says he doesn't believe that there is any chance of playing as the outfield is very wet after a lot of rain during the past week. There are puddles in a few places and with what appears to be a super-sopper that is not working they are not going to be able to get it to any level of safety for the players. We will keep you advised.
11.30am Hello and welcome to the 2nd ODI between South Africa and Zimbabwe at Buffalo Park in East London. There was heavy rain early this morning and as a result, the outfield is waterlogged. The umpires have decided to inspect again at 1pm local time. Please join us then for more news.
