Jess Jonassen, Brisbane Heat captain: "Our fielding was under-par tonight. A few good ones, especially with Jess Kerr taking that one-hander. It is pleasing to see Wyatt with back-to-back fifties and sets the tone for us at the top. When Laura Harris fires, there are not many who want to send the ball down to her. It was a tricky wicket at times. Anything pace on, fuller length, it was easier to score. Anything short, it was tough. The outfield looked like it was going to be fast but it was not. [Rivalry against Strikers] You take it as you must and if any team talks about our camp, we are happy they are focusing on us. We back every person in our side. Whether it is arrogance, I am not sure, it is about the confidence in our side."

That's all from Gnasher and me for tonight! Do join us for the Strikers-Heat Challenger tomorrow. Until then, take care and good night!

Player of the match, Laura Harris: "I think my job is pretty much to go hell for leather anyway. At 70+ in ten overs, it put us in prime position to take the Surge. I am not a huge highlights person. There were a couple of tweaks ahead of this game and it paid off. We felt like we haven't played a 20-over game for a long time. But we came today looking like it was going to be a whole game. [Quick turnaround] We talk about it not being the easiest of seasons in terms of travel and draw. But if you can't perform now, what are you doing?"

9:44pm Heat will face Strikers at the same venue tomorrow in the Challenger. A comprehensive win for them today at the Karen Rolton Oval. There was hardly a doubt once Heat posted 179 on the board. But Lee and Villani got off to a smooth start. As long as Lee was in the middle, Hurricanes looked to be in it. But once the openers were dismissed, the chase fizzed out. Jonassen stood out with a four-fer while Amelia Kerr and Sippel were impressive, too.

Looking back, how important was that Laura Harris burst, especially in the Power Surge? Helped Heat score 36 in those two overs, with a 14-ball 44. Heat were also helped by Wyatt, who hit a quick half-century opening the batting.

Jonassen on a hat-trick and she will bowl to Amy Smith. Can she get the treble? A slip in.
