Perth Scorchers 1 for 158 (Mooney 99*, Piparo 41*) beat Sydney Sixers 5 for 155 (Perry 69*, King 3-27) by nine wickets
Beth Mooney's unbeaten 99 powered Perth Scorchers past WBBL ladder leaders Sydney Sixers and into second place.
The prolific Scorchers opener struck back-to-back boundaries in the penultimate over to pass Sixers' 5 for 155 with nine balls and nine wickets to spare.
Her 36th 50-plus score broke a run of nine games without a half-century, Mooney peppering the offside boundary with cuts and cover drives in a commanding 58-ball knock.
She passed 50 in 34 balls then swung the game in Scorchers' favour with three fours and a six in succession off a Maitlan Brown over which cost 23.
Sophie Devine was the only wicket to fall, Chloe Piparo a willing partner as Sixers lost just their second game in the campaign.
Ellyse Perry top-scored for the Sixers; Brown and Erin Burns pushing their side to a solid total with some late hitting.
They had no answer with the ball though, Ash Gardner the only bowler to go for less than a run a ball.
