5:30pm: It is raining and the game has been called off and the teams share the points, both the teams get one point each. Match has been abandoned.
5:00pm: The rain has stopped and the mopping up operations are on and the umpires are out in the middle and having an inspection. The covers are still on.
Jerry: "If the semis get rained out then the team that tops the group move into the finals. So topping the group is very important considering the bad weather we have been having in Trinidad."
4:31pm: The covers are back on as it is raining, puddles forming on the ground and it is most unlikely there will be any play for the first game, stay tuned for the updates.
Gee: " the second match is the marquee match up...the interest for top spot is more likely to draw the afterwork crowd. if it is washed out they go to the NRR anyway. Not sure what the prize is for topping the group they would have to play Barbados or Guyana anyway."
Abizar: "What happens if the 2nd game for today gets rained out?" Here is the answer: Both teams have already qualified for the semis.
Murphy: "It's stupid that with this match being pointless and the second match possibly being very important in case of a rained out semi, that they would have this one first, when it is more likely that the second match might be rained out."
4:00pm: There are some dark clouds surrounding the ground but the good news is that one of the covers is being removed, we hope the rest of them too will be removed.
3:58pm: The rain has stopped but the outfield is wet and it will take some time before the game starts, stay tuned.
