8.40pm Australia win by four wickets with 28 balls to spare and take a 2-0 lead in the ODI series. That's four points to England's nought ahead of the third and final one-dayer at Canterbury on Sunday.

Despite Tammy Beaumont's sparkling century for England, Ellyse Perry's 62 after surviving a stumping chance was vital for the Australians, with Beth Mooney's unbeaten 43 and Jess Jonassen's 31 not out seeing them through as the hosts failed to capture the wickets they needed to defend their total of 217.

England have a few questions to answer, not just in relation to how they turn results around on the field. They will wait anxiously to see how Katherine Brunt pulls up after rolling her ankle during that wicket celebration. Although she returned to the field - and bowled again - it may be sore tomorrow. Likewise, they will have to see how wicketkeeper Sarah Taylor recovers after missing this match, also with an ankle problem.

Delissa Kimmince was outstanding for the Australians, her 5 for 26 pivotal in containing England and ensuring no one could match Beaumont's performance with the bat. After being named Player of the Match, Kimmince told Sky Sports: "The other day I missed my lines a little bit and I spoke to [captain] Meg [Lanning] and said, 'I need to keep it simple'. To get a few wins early on is good for our confidence and we're looking forward to the next game."

The fact the next-best England batsman, Danni Wyatt, scored just 25 highlighted that, for the second game in a row, their batting let them down, with the obvious exception of Beaumont. Captain Heather Knight said: "Tammy played outstanding. Unfortunately we couldn't have someone stay with her. If we did, we would have pushed the score up towards 250 ... we need to be a little bit smarter with the bat."

Lanning was pleased her side managed to improve on their nervy batting performance in the opening match. "It's nice to get another win on the board. I thought our performance was a lot better than the other day. To bowl them out for under 250 was good and we had a lot more composure with the bat."
