4:50pm An event-filled day, where 16 wickets fell, and if you missed out on any of the action, Srinidhi's report is your place to be. Bangladesh batted first and were bundled out for 106, through a combination of good bowling and loose stroke-play. South Africa have fared a little better but they too have lost more than half their side, with their last recognized batting pair out in the middle. This wicket is turning, bouncing and there was enough in it for the pacers with the new ball, suggesting that batting will only get tougher (unless things change dramatically).
And that makes this particular partnership very important. If Mulder and Verreynne can stretch take this lead closer to 100, that could be quite sizeable, given all that is happening. But if Bangladesh can skittle South Africa out quickly, they will feel they can set this game up nicely, considering they will be bowling last on this surface. We will be back tomorrow, nice and early, and until then, this is goodbye from Ranjith, Srinidhi and myself. Take care, everyone!
4:44pm The light meter is out, and the umpires have deemed that the light is not good enough at the moment. the players are walking off, and the light meter has been placed on the stumps, which will likely give out a reading that will now be used for the rest of the Test. And that will also be the end of day one, which means we have lost out on six overs today.
