2.26pm Chase and Joseph briefly frustrated Australia, but the hosts have wrapped up a convincing 164-run victory to go 1-0 up. Cummins and Lyon lead Australia off the field. With Cummins absent from the attack, Lyon led the way on days four and five to chip through West Indies' resistance and get the job done. He continued his strong record at Optus Stadium having now taken 22 wickets from three Tests. Here is Lyon: "Thank you, great way to start [the series]. To come here and do it in Perth...great to be back here. These guys are up there with some of the best players in the world. I was happy with Kraiggy's wicket. He's a superstar batter and I had to be patient with the limited rough out there. When one [Cummins] goes down, the other has to take the workload. Cummins came out and said thanks to me but no... Marnus [Labuschagne] is incredible for Australia and Queensland for a number of years now. He wants us to call him the Baby GOAT but we're not sure about that yet (laughs)."

Marnus Labuschange, Player of the Match: This ground is similar to Brisbane. Playing in bouncy wickets there helps. Probably the first innings was my favourite - coming in early and the wicket was nipping around. Yeah, Joseph was bowling nice and fast and it got the beans flowing. Nice to be able to compose myself after that no-ball wicket. Probably have to give it to the batting coach. Steve, Davey and Green, me all have been hitting a lot of balls.

Kraigg Brathwaite: Obviously, disappointed with the loss but must commend the batters for the fight. Good fight but we have to sit down as a bowling unit and find out how we're going to get 20 wickets. It was not thinking about survival - just normal batting and still believe in their plans. Australia bowled well and it's good to see the fight as batters. There was consideration to go for runs, if we had wickets, but losing wickets put us under pressure. We have to sit down and come out with better plans for the second Test. The hundred meant as lot and as a leader, I want to lead from the front - whether I'm on the field
We have to wait on Roach's scan and we have a replacement coming down.

Pat Cummins: I'm going well, and I have a tight quad. I was going to have a bowl, but it didn't get close. Few of the boys called it a jog, which I was happy with - just tried to be protective and hopefully I'll be available for Adelaide. Over here in Aussie wickets, you can get big partnerships when the pitch flattens out. Lyon loves bowling here and it was a fantastic all-round performance. Marnus has a huge appetite for runs and he's ridiculous - he still wants to bowl and chase every ball [in the field]. Lyon was fantastic. There was not a lot on offer, but he still found a way.

Hope you enjoyed our coverage as much as we did bringing it to you. Until next time, this is Deivarayan Muthu signing off on the behalf of Andrew McGlashan, Ekanth, Venkat Raghav and Thilak Ram. Take care and cheers.

Mike: "I feel sorry for Smith, can you imagine the plane ride from Perth to Adelaide with Labuschagne in his ear about making more runs.... Cummins owes Smith big time for declaring on him twice."

Big Max: "I love the way the Windies have gone about their cricket in recent years. We all forget sometimes that they are the only Test team that aren't actually a country, but conglomerate of islands. Jason Holder did a super job to instill a greater sense of hope, meaning and purpose in the team, and now Kraigg Brathwaite is taking things forward. Not the powerhouse of the past but a vast improvement of the teams in the decade post Brian Lara. Love the fight!"

craig: "Hoping all the Lyon haters are enjoying their humble pie."

Fazu: "Head is doing what I do in gully cricket. Whenever I start to bowl, I have hands actioning big off spinning deliveries, but as I am about to deliver, I just push my hands through the ball with same action, just like an arm ball.. Never thought this would work on international level :P"

JOYDEEP GILL: "Interesting fact despite lose this match wi still has not lost any series yet in this wtc cycle , they levelled series vs Pakistan , won series from England and Bangladesh "

Lyon to Roach, OUT, Knocked him over. Lyon finishes it off for Australia with a six-wicket haul. Delightful bowling from Lyon - too good for the No.11. This one slides on, as opposed to turning in, to beat the outside edge and strike the top of off stump. Well done, Lyon

Lyon to Chase, OUT, Starc tears in from deep square, dives forward, and comes out with the ball in both hands. Fine effort in the outfield. Slower through the air on middle and leg, Chase is beaten in flight. He aims midwicket, like he did earlier, but this time he can only drag is squarer. Another five-wicket haul for Lyon. He holds the ball aloft and soaks in the applause from the Sunday crowd
