12.38pm And with that, Stokes and Bumrah step up to share the series trophy, and England have retained the Pataudi Trophy too. I suspect it'll be all aboard the fun-bus to Binley Mega Chippy tonight for a very happy and united England squad. For India, it's a change of format coming swiftly up, with the first T20I looming large on [checks calendar].. Thursday? Wot, seriously? Wow, this summer is something else.

Final word to Stokes, who is asked on Sky, have England found 'the line" yet? "Nope," he says. "I almost wanted them to get 450 to see what we could do..." Amazing scenes.

From Miller, Monga, Venkat, and the rest of the team, thanks for joining us, and see you next time!

Here's Ben Stokes "It's down to the players, making my job easier. When you have clarity like we do in the dressing room it makes totals like that easier. 378 five weeks ago would have been scary, but it's all good.

"Jonny and Rooty will get the plaudits, but you set the precedent by what your two openers do, and playing the way they did against Bumrah and Shami.

"We take away the scoreboard and how many runs there are to chase, it's all about taking wickets. Sometimes teams will be better than us, but no-one will be braver than us, according to Jack Leach..."

"We are trying to rewrite how Test cricket is being played, in England in particular. It's not always about top of off, it's about taking ten wickets.

"We know that we want to give new life to Test cricket, and the support that we've had has been incredible. We are bringing a new set of fans to Test cricket. We want to leave a mark."

India's Player of the Series is Jasprit Bumrah. 23 wickets in the series, and "sixes reminiscent of Gordon Greenidge", no less... credit to AFP's Julian Guyer for his poetic licence in that citation...

"Ifs and buts can always be a thing, but this is how the game of cricket goes, England kept on fighting and played better than us in the second innings. Both teams played good cricket. Rishabh takes his chances, he and Jaddu counterattacked and we were ahead of the game. Very happy for him, he had a very good match. Captaincy was a good challenge, a lot of great learnings, an honour to lead the team and a great experience for me."

Here come the presentations. First up, the Player of the Match.

Unsurprisingly, for his centuries in both innings of this Test, it's Jonny Bairstow!

"It's great fun at the moment, this last month has been fantastic, we can see the smile on the boys' faces. I've stripped it all back to the basics, I'm not a big fan of bubbles and sitting in rooms playing computer games, but it's great to be back, day five sold out in 90 minutes. It's about having the enjoyment factor, not afraid of failing, putting the pressure back on the opposition, we're going to lose games along the way, but the positive brand is fun to play.

"It was all under control," he says of the verbals and the match situation. "World-class bowlers, they try and intimidate, amazing players, try to shift it back onto them, periods of Test cricket when you have to consolidate, it started reversing so it got interesting again, then this morning's a different morning.

On himself and Joe: "Just two lads from Yorkshire, grown up playing together from academy to Test matches, it's pretty special."

The England Player of the Series is, obviously, Joe Root - with special mentions for Anderson and Robinson. But 737 runs at 105.28, with four hundreds is out of this world.

"I love batting," he says. "The environment over the last four weeks is exceptional, clarity and belief, get out there, trust it and do it.

Root was obviously captain for the first four Tests of this series. "Stokesy has the full backing of everyone, particularly myself. Our responsibility is to keep it entertaining for everyone out there."

12.14pm Well, it was free entry at Edgbaston, and it's safe to say the fans got their money's worth! Two sublime centuries from two outstanding batters. We've got the presentations coming up shortly.

HJ: "With this new attacking batting style in tests, do bowlers need to bring in white ball tactics? " I think that is inevitable, yes. And maybe an upheaval to the old norm of "win toss and bat"...

Joe Root: "Ben before the toss said we're not going to bat, we're going to chase... so much credit to the two lads at the top, smashed that ball around on a wicket that was doing a bit. A sublime partnership against a world-class attack. The feeling in the dressing-room is whatever you get, we're going to take it on. Jonny's been in and out of the side, you can blame me for that if you like, but he's come in this summer, back end of the winter, and been exceptional. I feel like I'm playing some nice cricket, feel excited, in a good place, and I need to work hard at maintaining that. I'm at peace with one mode of dismissal, it's a game of failure, when you get in you've got to keep it going.

"Throughout the whole summer, 80 wickets for the bowling attack, always hunting wickets, and making things happen, which is what it's all about.

"When you're going at 4.5 an over, it's hard to put the pressure back on you."

Kevin: "I understand there is doubt about Bazball, and it is new and they are in favourable conditions. However, when has England ever chased like this, in a single game, yet alone 4 in a row. Look a Bairstow with a free licence, heck look at Lees who has gone from SR of around 35 to 80 in a couple of innings! Signs are fantastic going forward for England in test cricket. "

Ajay Sharma: "I think England would have chased even 600, that is the only way to do it, credit where's due, India didn't do much wrong except they didn't think like IPL when playing vs England"

Edmund : "What Root just said about his batting and the team's bowling clearly suggests that he thinks England are the best team in the world." They are certainly the form team... but that's rather different!

12.01pm Wow. Just over an hour-and-a-half of brisk, bold batting from Root and Bairstow, the two most in-form players in the world, and out of apparent adversity, England have tied the Pataudi Trophy and denied India their first series win in England since 2007.

Handshakes all round out in the middle, before hugs and back-slaps from the England players on the boundary. That's four wins in a row, four exceptional run-chases in a row. Four centuries in as many Tests for Bairstow. And four hundreds in this series alone for Root, who - lest we forget - racked up three of them in his annus mirablis of 2021.
