If you needed reminding, the IPL 2025 auction begins tomorrow, soon after the end of day 3 in Perth. We've revamped our auction dashboard, so do tune in for live updates of players sold, how the teams are building their squads, and so much more.

Huzefa: "Looks like a long series for the Aussies with some more Cavalry joining the Indian forces in the form of Shami, Rohit & Gill." There were mentions on Fox's broadcast that Shami might fly to Australia for the Adelaide Test. Wasn't confirmed though. That's it for today from here. Thanks for tuning in. I'm Ekanth, signing off on behalf of Andrew McGlashan and out scorer, Venkat Raghav.

Australia weren't at their best in the second session but were better after tea. Starc beat bat often. Hazlewood was near unplayable in the first hour after tea but he couldn't get break through. There was a tough chance at slip off Jaiswal but Khawaja couldn't get low enough in time. It was off a hard cover drive, which was also an indication of the pitch slowing down. Lyon's plugged away. Didn't seem to get a lot of turn unless he slowed the pace down noticeably. The bounce has been his ally and will keep him interested. But a lot of work to do for them if they are to make a comeback.

Manoj: "With too much time left in the Test match and pitch turning friendlier to bat, India would be worried to decide when to declare!" Think they'll bat as long as possible just to tire Australia's bowlers

Avinash: "Given both teams are fighting for that WTC final spot, these over rates are going to hurt them "

Deepak Samson : "Test very nicely poised. India firmly in control."

5:52pm, Day 2, Stumps: The Test has changed complexion completely. Like after day 1, India are in front, but this is no more a green mamba. The pitch has gone brown. The pace has lowered, there has been movement off the seam at times, but Jaiswal and Rahul have been rock solid. They've been happy to narrow their focus and defend for long periods. Jaiswal took on scoring opportunities later in the day against a friendlier pitch and tiring bowlers. Both openers walk back in with a smile, a sigh of relief from Jaiswal, places his hand on the chest, looks up. He had a few cramps btw, some rest will help him before coming out tomorrow, in search of another breakthrough hundred. On the other side, Kohli was walking in for a few throwdowns.

Colbert: "150/10 in the 1st Innings and 172/0 in the 2nd.. What a comeback...!!"

Labuschagne to Rahul, no run, That reared up! Has Rahul hopping too, he did well. Got the bottom hand off quickly while fending to the off side. 132ks

pratik : "Marnus was a leggie , innit ?" Was, but he can bowl seam. Did it in the Sheffield Shield this year. He's now cosplaying as the right-arm Neil Wagner

Labuschagne to Rahul, no run, Marnus is unhappy with the line of this bouncer. No was is Rahul playing that. Was high-ish too, two for the over signals the ump

56.2
0
Labuschagne to Rahul, no run, 134ks bumper. Marnus is medium fast! He's keen on looking at the scoreboard too. Ducked under
56.1
1
Labuschagne to Jaiswal, 1 run, Won't take him on. Nudges the shortish ball off the back foot towards square leg. Easy single

Likely the last over of the day. Marnus in. How will Jaiswal treat him?

Cummins to Jaiswal, no run, Short and it whacks the bat handle, pops to Head's left. On the bounce at short leg. A bit of gentle mockery as Head mimics a cramp
54.5
0
Cummins to Jaiswal, no run, Shorish just outside off. Jaiswal started shaping to play, decides to leave

He's okay now

Ramesh: "Basic doubt. Is there any difference between a bumper and a bouncer?" Nope, they're synonyms

Jaiswal's holding onto his right forearm, wrings it. The cramps seem to have set in again. A small break in play. More pickle juice for Jaiswal, a bit of orange liquid as well. He's in a bit of pain as the physio massages him but Rahul and Jadeja, who's come in, keep him in good spirits.

54.4
0
Cummins to Jaiswal, no run, Drive and a miss! Was a teaser that. Full and wide, Jaiswal went for the full-blooded drive through cover
54.3
0
Cummins to Jaiswal, no run, Bumper, Jaiswal ducked under that early. Ball landed just outside leg and went through with the angle. 138ks

Alex: "has the pitch totally gone flat, are Australia bowling pies or has India gone up a gear in batting? some or all of the above?" All. Hazlewood's spell earlier in the session was remarkable. India's openers, to their credit, have been stubborn

54.2
1
Cummins to Rahul, 1 run, Changes to a full length. It's a touch outside off, punched with a vertical bat to point
