77.2 bowled him this time! This one comes back in after the previous one went further away, and Elgar's drive with the full face doesn't get him the result. The ball swings back after pitching on a full length on off, and finds the gap between his bat and pad. And the move to persist with Mayers has paid off for West Indies, with the captain gone. Brilliant, steady innings from him though 203/5
1.3 a wicket in the first over for Gabriel. It was short and wide and Markram went after it. However, he failed to keep it down and Chase took a sharp chance to his right at backward point, almost at shoulder level 1/1
10.1 Seales strikes! It's fuller outside off and Petersen cannot resist a drive. But the ball moves away, taking the outside edge towards the cordon. Holder at second slip moves to left and takes it with reverse cups 26/2
17.3 shoulders arms and he's bowled. This comes back in sharply as Roach pitched this on a good length and on fifth stump after bowling from wider of the crease. But despite those inswingers all this while, VDD decides to leave the ball which strikes his off stump. Surprising, considering all that movement that Roach has been getting into him. 37/3
49.1 nabbed by Da Silva to his left. Given out, but reviewed by Verreynne. Short of a length ball on middle and leg, and swings further away down the leg side. He goes for the pull, and UltraEdge confirms there's a spike as the ball passes the face of his bat. A settled batter is dismissed, as Verreynne surrenders a start 124/4
105.2 chases this widish ball and edged to gully. Mayers, the magician for West Indies. Bowls this on a good length and wide of off, as de Kock tries to slash at that delivery which is moving away from him. Gets the outside edge to the keeper, but the ball bounces off his glove to the gully fielder in place. de Kock can't to another hundred in the series, as Mayers has now got both Elgar and de Kock 275/8
88.4 and Roach strikes in his first over of the day. A length ball in the channel. Angled in towards the batter who comes forward to defend but the ball holds its line, inducing an outside edge. Da Silva tumbles to his right to complete the catch 239/6
104.3 edged behind and gone. Maharaj was tempted to push at the ball in just the previous delivery which was on a good length, but this was a lot fuller just outside off and he drives with an angled bat. Gets the outside edge, as the bowl continues to move away after pitching. He had been poking at balls outside off earlier as well, but this time has to give away his wicket as Da Silva took it to his right pretty comfortably 275/7

107.6 excellent diving catch by Seales at midwicket. He was positioned there precisely for that chip in the air, and Seales threw himself in the air to his left to complete a fantastic take. Mayers bowled that full on middle and off, and that came back into the batter as well. Nortje saw it as an opportunity to flick it away, but for Seales' intervention. Brilliant take by the youngster 281/9
112.4 chipped to short midwicket, and South Africa can't get to 300. This was pretty full on middle and leg, and Ngidi pushes at it pretty late. Darren Bravo, the substitute fielder, has to take half a hop before he can safely take that into his hands. And the fight from the final wicket pair ends, with Rabada unbeaten on 21 298/10

0.1 An appeal for caught-behind on the very first ball. Denied, looked like it was just the thigh pad but South Africa have gone for the review after a bit of deliberation. A length ball down the leg side, Brathwaite went for the flick and UltraEdge shows it brushed his glove on its way to the keeper. What a start to the innings 0/1
3.1 given lbw but Powell wants to review it. A length ball that holds its line to beat the inside edge as Powell looks to defend. A huge appeal from the bowler but he would have to wait. There's not bat involved. The ball landed on leg stump, hit around middle and would have gone on to clip the bails. Umpire's call on stumps, so it stays out. West Indies in trouble early on 8/2

33.1 Ngidi has broken through. Hope falls for 43. Was a length ball outside off that was coming in. Hope moves across and looks to defend but gets an inside edge on to the bails. He is disappointed, trudges back to the pavilion. Blackwood is on his knees at the non-striker's end 97/5
5.4 Verreynne! That's brilliant catch at short leg. Length ball on the pads, Chase goes for the flick but ends up hitting it straight to short leg where Verreynne completes a smart catch, around knee height. Didn't have to move at all 30/3
16.1 edges this to slip. Goes for the drive to this full ball outside off as Maharaj gave it some air again. This one doesn't turn like the earlier ones though. But Mayers saw it as an opportunity to perhaps try and repeat that drive from Maharaj's previous over, and instead gets the outside edge to the only slip fielder there 54/4
53.6 top-edges this sweep and is caught by Elgar. Tossed up ball on middle and off, and goes for the big heave off the last ball of the over. But he gets a top edge, and South Africa's captain takes the catch almost very close to the non-striker. 149/10
39.6 a loose shot from Holder. It was fuller but much wider this time but Holder went for the drive only to get a thick outside edge which Petersen pouched around head height at gully 115/6
50.3 takes the outside edge and he's caught behind. Full delivery on that off stump channel and very close to the batter, who tries to defend but gets a thin edge to the keeper. The ball seemed to angle away after pitching just outside off, and Da Silva falls to that movement. Not a great birthday there for him 143/7
52.3 de Kock dives to his right and Mulder has his second. Good length delivery just outside off, as the ball angles away with Roach trying to withdraw his bat last moment. He gets the outside edge instead, as de Kock almost takes it in front of first slip. Mulder rewarded again for persisting with that fuller length in that off stump channel, while also getting the ball to move away from the right-hander 145/8
52.5 clipped to leg slip. Good length delivery on middle and leg, and the left-hander just tried to tuck that behind perhaps not realising that a man had been stationed keeping in mind the movement Mulder's been getting to try and force the batter into that shot 145/9

0.3 Roach strikes! He pitches it on a good length, just around off. Markram has to play and he gets an outside edge as the ball moves away. It goes low to the left of second slip where Holder pouches it without any fuss 4/1
7.5 Roach gets his second. Elgar didn't look at his best this innings and he eventually pays the price for pushing with hard hands outside off. It was a length ball that seamed away to take the outside edge and Holder makes no mistake once again at second slip, this time slightly to his right 33/2
13.2 chopped on, and Mayers manages to get a wicket yet again. Short and wide of off, and there was good bounce there as well as Petersen went to cut that away from his body and without any foot movement. But all he could manage was a bottom edge on to the middle stump, as Mayers gets a wicket off his second ball 44/3

17.6 edged behind and gone. Bowled with a scrambled seam on a good length on the fourth stump, and the ball holds its line with Verreynne defending close to his body. He had been bowling pretty wide of off all this while, but this was really close to the batter, who gets an outside edge to give Mayers his second wicket 52/4
18.4 the in-form Qdk falls for a duck this time. Good length delivery on off, and seemed to move away ever so slightly. de Kock defends slightly away from the body, and gets an outside edge to the keeper. Holder and West Indies can't have enough joy, with South Africa five down very early 53/5
19.6 nabbed by gully this time. The ball angles into the right-hander after pitching on fourth stump - like it has most of this while - as Mulder drives away from his body only to get the outside edge. Wicket No. 3 for Mayers, who moves the ball in the air and continues to get crucial breakthroughs. A collapse on the cards here, with South Africa effectively six down for 203 54/6
26.2 that has to be the catch of series. Holder has pulled off a screamer, almost full stretch to his right at second slip and grabbing it with his right hand. It was a fuller delivery from Seales and Maharaj went for the drive only to edge it behind 73/7
42.4 taken at point as Roach breaks a solid partnership, He rolls his fingers through the seam and bowls on a good length wide of off. Rabada tries to jab while being still in his crease, but gets a top edge instead. Darren Bravo, the substitute fielder, turns around, runs back a few steps and completes a good catch 143/8
44.6 caught behind, as Nortje looks to drive this full length ball on off. The ball moves just a bit away from him, as he tries to drive from off stump. Gets an outside edge to the keeper, though at once it seemed as if he had hit the ground with his bat, with Nortje hanging around for a moment to think of a review 152/9
52.6 down the wicket and looks to go over the top but ends up playing down the wrong line. Misses and an easy stumping for Da Silva, his first in Test cricket 174/10

8.2 Rabada strikes early. Brathwaite departs. It was a length ball just outside off. Brathwaite looks to defend but the ball kisses the outside edge and travels to Elgar's left at first slip in almost slow motion. A neat catch from the South Africa captain, tumbling away 16/1
36.3 sweeps and finds deep midwicket. There was no need of playing it in the air with the ball turning into the batter from outside off and from a slightly good length. He had been playing Maharaj the best among all West Indies batters, but this time he almost goes down on one knee to loft that and finds the only man on the fence on the leg side. Another wicket given away 107/4
12.2 A snorter of a delivery from Rabada. Rising and angling towards the batter. Hope gets in an awkward position - half ducking and half fending. The ball hits him and lobs towards the slip cordon, Markram pouches it at second slip. An appeal for a catch. Given not out but South Africa have reviewed after a bit of discussion. UltraEdge confirms it hit him on the top glove that was still on the bat 26/2
31.3 taken by Elgar running back from slips. And Mayers throws it away after a very good start. Plays the pull away from his body and while being stuck in his crease, as this one was short outside off but didn't quite get up. Gets a top edge instead, as the ball flies over the slips. Elgar at second slip gives the chase, and heaves a sigh of relief after taking that well 90/3
53.4 brilliant from de Kock. For a moment it looked like he was wrong-footed but he recovers and dives full-length to his right and pouches it with both hands. Coming to the delivery, it was a full ball outside off and Blackwood just pushed at it 147/7
36.4 and inside-edged to short leg first ball. It is all breaking loose for West Indies here after a stable third wicket partnership. Holder defends this full ball on middle and off with his bat on the off side, but gets it lobbed off the inside edge to the fielder to leave Maharaj on a hat-trick. 107/5
36.5 fantastic take by Mulder at leg slip and there comes Maharaj's hat-trick. Da Silva tries to poke at that full ball outside leg, with no turn for the spinner there. Mulder dives to his right and takes it one-handed by falling down. Maharaj becomes only the second from his country to take three in three balls, and he's unstoppable now - almost Imran Tahir-like. 107/6
56.4 right down the throat of long-on. Ngidi at deepish mid-on was pushed further back on the boundary after that first ball of the over, and this time Roach goes for the heave off this fullish and wide ball of off with Ngidi almost losing sight of the ball. Loses his wicket to this slog, and South Africa almost there 158/8
58.3 and Maharaj has his fifth, as Seales heaves across the line to find deep square leg. That's the game too for South Africa, since Chase would not be coming out to bat. Fittingly, it is Maharaj who wraps it up with Seales playing the big shot down the leg side to a delivery bowled on good length wide of off 165/10
