62.1 skidding on straight, hit on the knee roll - given! Green will review Joel Wilson's decision but he doesn't look too confident. Only has to be clipping, and it is! 27.1 short and nailed... but Khawaja snags it at midwicket! Far harder chance but he holds on to bring a much-needed breakthrough for Australia! Firmly pulled in front of square but it was in the air for a long time and Khawaja pulled off the nifty diving take with two hands. 61.1 keeps shockingly low and Root is castled! That's barely above the bootlaces as Root prods down the line, around a good length, and has not a prayer of getting bat on that. The end of a magnificent knock, and another shift in the permutations 351/4

Brook took it on once more, as well he might, stepping to leg again but Hazlewood just followed him a touch, it's a steepler to Starc who grabs it well just inside the rope... the crowd gasp a touch at the replay, but he seems six inches from the sponge, with the shadow perhaps confusing the picture 474/6

83.1 bowled him, looking to go hard! Cummins gets his opposite number, Australia make their first breakthrough of the day. Pitched up on the stumps, wobble seam and it nibbles a fraction as Stokes whips across the line, takes a thin inside edge and then crashes into the timbers 437/5

10.2 Extra pace and bounce! Up goes the finger for a snick behind! Khawaja looks a touch bemused, and reviews. Must admit, I didn't think he'd touched it but England were convinced! There it is! 17.5 chopped on, Woakes gets Warner again! Probing line and it is all too much for Davey, who jams the bat down and diverts the ball into his own stumps. 67.1 low-slung wide of the stumps, Marnus cuts... Bairstow juggles it, and holds on! Nitin Menon is unmoved but YJB is adamant there was an edge and England immediately review. This could be HUGE! Yes, a big nick on UltraEdge, the extra bounce does the job, and Root has shaken things up in the gloom! Labuschagne has played brilliantly but has to drag himself away. It's an attempted paddle-pull, mostly because he's caught in two minds, not because he thought it was the optimum shot. That's just savage fast bowling, short, sharp, angled in at the body, rising at the splice, a half-cocked defensive flap on the back foot, again there's a lack of pace off the wicket that confounds his alignment, a simple deflection to a deep-set gully, Duckett back-pedals and now England are on the move! 108/4
