16.5 There's the edge Paterson was searching for and he finally gets his man. Length ball slanting across Latham, who reaches for it, gets a thick edge that is snapped up by debutant Fortuin. Timely strike for South Africa just as these two were threatening to break away. 39/2
1.1 and he has struck first ball! First ball in Test cricket and he's removed Conway! Shamar Joseph, you have company. With the angle from around the wicket, he pitches it right on good length, moves it in sharply and traps the batter right in front with sharp movement. Conway goes down to consult Latham, it's not a short chat and eventually Conway decides to walk back. The replays say it was umpire's call on hitting the top of the stumps. What a start! 2/1
94.5 Finally after two dropped catches, de Swardt has his first Test wicket. Uncharacteristic from Williamson but he departs after scoring a fantastic 118. The wobble seam length ball outside off and Williamson looks to hoick it across the line. Gets a bit of a top edge that balloons straight up and Moreki at mid-on waits and eternity before taking the catch reverse-cupped and tumbles away. De Swardt punches the air in delight and then takes a moment to soak it all in. 271/3

139.2 oh, Ravindra has played all over it and he's bowled! A loud applause from the crowd, handshakes from some of the South Africa players and a standing ovation from his team-mates in the dressing room. He went for the pull for the short ball, it turned into him and went off the leg as the body opened up and crashed into the stumps. An epic knock for Ravindra. Lara's first hundred was 277 and Ravindra's 240. Could it mean something? 474/7
121.3 That's a stunning caught and bowled from Brand. Tossed up outside off, he jumps down the track and absolutely pummels it back at the bowler, who gets both hands to it to his left and somehow hangs on. Mitchell can't quite believe it. Brand has hurt his fingers but this is a first Test wicket for him, so he won't really mind 374/4
126.1 Whipped and out. De Swardt gets his second and Blundell departs. Length ball just on off, he looks to go over midwicket, does not get it off the middle of the bat and midwicket takes a good low catch 391/5
137.6 Phillips goes down the ground and he finds long-off this time! Pitched up around off, swings down the ground and de Swardt barely has to move near the boundary. Brand has his second 473/6
141.5 Wicket no. 4 for captain Brand and this one is an absolute beauty. Gets the ball to flight and land in the footholes just outside the left-handers off stump. The ball pitches and turns sharply back into the batter going through the gate. 479/8

143.4 Five-wicket haul for captain Brand on test debut. Flighted outside off, away from Henry's hitting arc. He goes straight, does not get it off the middle of the bat with the ball going high that long. De Swardt settles under the catch and takes it inches off the ropes 511/9
143.6 Six-for for Brand! What a performance by the South African captain. Keeps it wicket to wicket, Southee eyes a slog, misses and see his off pole pegged back. New Zealand are allout for 511. 511/10

14.5 he's bounced him out, Moore is gone! Bangs in a bouncer from around the wicket, the left-handed Moore hops on his toes, takes his eyes off the ball while sticking his bat out in front of his face. The ball rises and takes the edge, goes off the helmet and balloons towards short cover point where Conway dives forward from the ring to complete an excellent catch 30/3
9.4 There's the edge and Jamieson draws the first blood. On a length outside off, the ball angles in and just straightens off a length. Brand looks to leave the ball but withdraws his bat late. A feather through to the keeper who takes a simple catch 26/1
9.6 Huge appeal for lbw and van Tonder is gone for a two-ball duck. Plumb as they come. Full-length ball shaping back into van Tonder who over-commits on the front foot. The ball sneaks past his inside-edge and crashes into his pads. He was caught bang in front. Would have taken out middle and leg stump 26/2
23.4 oh he's bowled while playing all over it! A bit similar to Ravindra's dismissal because he's gone down on a knee to pull it fine on leg but the ball goes off his thigh pad to rise, take the elbow and then drop on the stumps 74/4
33.4 leading edge off the pull and Bedingham has given it away! Short ball on off and Bedingham goes for a big pull but doesn't get on top of it at all and gets a leading edge that goes high just to the left of the bowler and Santner settles under it nicely. Bedingham looks pretty disappointed and understandably so 83/5
64.6 oh my goodness, Petersen what have you done! He goes after a length ball on off that's turning away and it's s leading edge down the ground. Williamson goes back a few steps from mid-off and does well to settle under it. Wasn't an easy catch. Survived the whole over and gave it away on the last ball 152/8
33.6 loud, loud appeal for lbw after de Swardt shoulders arms and the ball just clips the front pad on its way to the keeper! Given out but de Swardt has reviewed it. It was angling in from well outside off, and it's just about clipping the edge of off stump. So it's umpire's call and the decision stays. De Swardt might think that was a very good leave, but that's the way umpire's call functions 83/6
51.5 And just like that Santner has a wicket. Tossed up just outside off, Fortuin jumps down the track and can't keep his loft down. Southee at short cover takes a simple catch. 120/7

71.3 loses his patience, goes for a big shot, and Santner knocks over off stump! 50th Test wicket for Santner. Some flight and turn on middle turning towards off, Moreki wants to go down the ground but misses that completely and the ball hits the top of off. Santner's persistence pays off 161/9
72.5 beats him in the air and he also takes the off stump home. Nicely flighted on middle and leg, Paterson wants to work it away to leg but he's beaten completely by the turn and drift and loses his off stump 162/10

4.2 Big appeal for lbw, almost a cerebrappeal and the umpire concurs. That looked adjacent on first viewing. Just where it struck Latham could be the question. He has reviewed. Paterson gets the wobble seam length ball to hoop back sharply into the batter, who plays all over it and is struck right in front of the stumps. No bat, and he is struck in line as well. Replays confirm the ball would have smashed into middle and leg stump 10/1
29.2 Slog swept again, and Moore after dropping a sitter in the previous over has taken a stunner at deep midwicket. Slog swept again, not timed as well this time. The ball goes flat and low to Moore who runs in from deep midwicket and takes it inches off the turf 102/2
41.6 Runs past one and is stumped for 109! Looped up on leg stump, he dances down the track looking to go across the lines. He loses his shape, misses the ball completely and is stumped by a mile. Walks back to a warm applause. 173/4
36.6 Flat, hard and straight to short cover. Was fuller outside off, actually right in the slot. He gets a good chunk of it and hits it very well but just not high enough. Brand takes a smart catch. 143/3

3.1 And there's wicket no. 2! The wickets are tumbling early. Fuller-length ball outside off, he drives on the up, can't keep the ball down and extra cover takes the simplest of catches. 5/2
2.3 Cleaned up with a beauty. No need to review that one. Southee gets the inswinger going his way nicely. Was on a length jagging back into Brand from outside off. The batter is in two minds whether or not to play it or leave. Too late, and the ball sneaks past his inside edge to clatter into his stumps 3/1
30.2 Edged and gone! Jamieson gets his man for the second time in the Test. That is a soft dismissal and van Tonder's vigil ends on 31. Pushed fuller and outside off baiting him into a drive. He goes after it, gets an edge and Latham with his soft hands makes no mistake at first slip. 68/3
32.6 Oh, dear that's a disappointing dismissal. Hamza was playing so well but an aggressive shot has brought about his dismissal. Banged in short outside off, chest high. He looks to pull that away, gets it right off the cue end of the bat and straight to mid-on who accepts it gleefully. Soft dismissal and Hamza goes for 36 73/4
56.3 And there's a mistime straight to deep midwicket. Bedingham's short ball charge ends after the break. Banged in short, he backs away like he's done all innings, but miscues this completely. Jamieson has his third. 178/5
58.6 Oh, he's taken on the short ball and he's handed Ravindra a catch at long leg. Bouncer rib-high down leg, Petersen, who had avoided the pull for so long goes after this. Ravindra runs in and takes a good low catch. Fourth wicket for Jamieson 181/6

65.5 Oh, dear that is such an unlucky way to fall. Half-tracker on middle and leg, he rocks back and nails the pull but straight into Latham's knee. The ball ricochets and pops straight up for Blundell to take a simple catch. 199/7
68.2 Edged and gone. Floated gently on off stump, Olivier does not get forward enough plays down the line and Mitchell takes a straightforward catch at first slip 208/8
75.6 really loud appeal for lbw as he goes back again but this one doesn't turn and comes in with the angle. The umpire gives it out and Moreki reviews. You can see the base of leg stump when the ball hits him above the knee roll and ball-tracking shows it's hitting middle! Nine down and Santner has two 223/9
79.6 holed out to long-on the last ball before the new ball and NZ wrap up the massive win! He swung big again across the line and Williamson took the catch with a tumble in the deep 247/10
