3.5 Wood hits a hard length, gets good bounce and gets Jaiswal to nick it to slip! That's a case of making things happen. Wood's first Test wicket since Labuschagne at The Oval in July, says Matt. Shortish length, angling away towards fourth stump. Jaiswal took a small forward press and couldn't cope with the bit of extra bounce. Tried defending it towards mid-off, the ball took the edge and Root completed a good low grab 22/1
63.3 Wood does squeeze water out of stone and he is pumped, what a guy! Rohit finally falls for the short-ball plan, his magnificent 131 comes to an end, he's miffed and signals he wanted to get that squarer. You know where the ball landed, it's that same short length which has bashed by Wood throughout this burst. 138ks. Rohit was waiting in the crease, he was standing diagonally and wanted to lump it across the line. He swung himself out of shape and got a top edge. There were three people waiting halfway back at midwicket, Stokes gobbled it 237/4
5.4 Wood nicks off Gill, he has two in the first half hour. He wheels away in sheer delight. Rohit looks up in disappointment at the other end, Gill walks back. Gorgeous three-quarter length ball on fourth. The last ball decked back in. This one went straight but Gill was a bit more cautious, tried defending relatively closer to the pad with a straight bat but could only feather the seam-up ball to Foakes. Wood bowling from wide of the crease. Ball tracking shows a little later that the previous ball seamed in 0.8 degrees and this one went away 0.6 degrees. 24/2
8.5 Softie, ball sticks in the pitch and Patidar balloons it to cover! Length ball at 87ks lands outside off and spits up. Patidar did cover the spin but couldn't handle the spiteful bounce, he shaped to cut but had to withdraw after that turn and bounce. Unfortunately for Patidar, it was too late, the ball popped off the bottom-quarter of the bat. 33/3

90.5 Root loops it up, takes a caught and bowled. Jadeja can't carry his good work forward today. Root's bowling has been immaculate this morning, especially this over. He's giving it air, putting the revs on and holding onto a good line. This one was on the fuller side outside off, 90ks if I read the speed right, might've dipped on Jadeja as he went across and tried to muscle through a drive through mid-off. Ended up lobbing it off the outer-half of the bottom of the bat, to Root's left, around shoulder height. Good take in the follow-through 331/7
81.5 massive mix-up, direct hit, Sarfaraz is run out on debut! Chaos! Wood hits the bullseye. Anderson angles one in which Jadeja works near enough straight to the fielder at mid-on. He appears to call Sarfaraz through for the single, then changes his mind, and Wood pings a stump out of the ground with the non-striker well short. What a bonus for England late in the day! 314/5
89.4 Anderson goes around the wicket and nicks off Kuldeep. Top of a good length in the channel, Kuldeep takes a small stride and tries to push it towards cover. The ball looked to have straightened a bit and took a thin edge. Easy catch for Foakes. England break through 15 minutes in to day 2 331/6
123.5 Jurel misses out on fifty, tried chopping it square and is nicked off. Length ball landed around off, may have drifted away a bit, spun away and Jurel tried playing it square. Top edged it, sharp take from Foakes. Rohit applauds as he walks back 415/9
119.6 Taken finally, third time's the charm as Anderson holds on at mid-on Looked like the googly, tossed up down leg, Ashwin danced down towards the line and tried to pump it over mid-on. Got it low on the bat and low to Anderson. Replays show he fumbled and got it on the second attempt. Ashwin's despondent as the 77-run eighth-wicket stand ends, England breathe a sigh of relief 408/8

130.5 struck in front once again, this one looks plumb! Dharmasena gives it out, but with three reviews left, Bumrah sends it upstairs. Struck him on the knee roll, right in front of the stumps as he looked to work leg-side. Hitting the top of leg stump, three reds, and India are 445 all out 445/10

13.1 Ashwin has his 500th Test wicket! He's all smiles as team-mates gather around him. Not his best ball but he has bowled to his field and landed it in the rough. Dravid and Co applaud. Team-mates are hugging him, he raises his hand to acknowledge the crowd, some of whom are dancing in the aisles. It's down leg on a full length, Crawley tries to sweep it fine and over the infield. Gets a top edge and Patidar takes a dolly. 84/1
50.1 short and wide, and toe-ended to cover! Oh my, of all the balls to break through! It's a rank pie, Duckett could have slapped it anywhere, and perhaps that was the problem. A limp tap into the off-side, and a masterful innings ends after drinks! 255/5
29.6 struck on the pad by the fuller one, desperate appeal... Wilson says no! And there are overthrows too, though they might not matter. Long discussion between Siraj, Rohit and Jurel, and India will review this. Much fuller than anything else in the over, but still struck Pope above the knee roll. No inside edge, looking to work to leg. Here's ball-tracking... hitting the top of leg stump! Pope throws his head back in frustration. The short-ball ploy works thanks to a brilliant bluff from Siraj 177/2
39.5 Root out against the run of play! And this is a big wicket for India's morale, inside five overs of day three. Root falls prey to his own improvisation, trying to play a reverse scoop/reverse ramp over the slip cordon, but Jaiswal at second slip keeps his eyes on the ball and takes a very tricky catch. This was a full ball just outside off, and Root wanted to make full use of the acres of space at deep third. Wasn't to be and that's England three down! 219/3
40.4 finally the umpire raises his finger! Bairstow has a chat and takes the review. This was a full ball originating outside off stump. But it turns in sharply and hits Bairstow's pads while he is on the back foot. Bairstow too late to bring the bat down and it appears he's been hit in front of off stump. Bairstow is not even waiting for ball-tracking, he begins walking back after seeing where it hit his pads, and the replay confirms that's crashing into middle. A duck 220/4
64.6 The hometown hero strikes! Full ball drifts across Stokes and lands outside off, no real turn and Stokes goes down on one knee to hit to cow corner. But he slices it a bit, and Bumrah runs back towards wide long on to take a reverse-cup catch, hands in front of his eyes 294/6
65.1 two in two! Length ball around off and it shapes in nicely. Foakes looks to meet the ball in a positive fashion, but the ball holds up a shade after pitching. He meets it with hard hands while checking his shot, and the ball pops up teasingly to Rohit Sharma diving forward at mid on! 294/7
69.5 yorked! A searing yorker fired in just outside off. Rehan tries to get the bat down after saving his toes, but the ball goes under the bat, and clips the outside of off stump. Only one bail gets knocked off, but that's all you need really! 309/8
70.2 Jurel makes no mistake! Jadeja perhaps expected Hartley would come down the track. Bowls a flat length ball outside off and Hartley is nowhere near the pitch after failing to make connection. Jurel ensures he keeps his gloves behind the stumps before collecting it, and its an easy stumping after that. Hartley made no effort trying to get back 309/9

11.3 huge appeal as Rohit misses his sweep! Big moment, this was leg-stump-adjacent, very full length, but did it pitch in line? Joel Wilson says no, but England review. There's no bat involved. Little doubt that this will be hitting the stumps, it's all on the line... it's pitched on leg! The decision is overturned and England have their opening! 30/1
63.6 chance of a run out! Kuldeep comes down the track and thrashes a shot that lands in front of mid on, Stokes. Gill is looking for a single, but he is forced to turn back since there wasn't one there. Stokes throws it in, on the bounce to Hartley, and Gill's dive cannot save him! Out by a few inches and Gill is gone for 91. He hits the bat on the ground in frustration, and Kuldeep is on his haunches. A wicket against the run of play and Gill has to make that long walk back, missing out on back-to-back centuries. On that note, drinks. 246/3
47.4 long hop, slapped to midwicket! Patidar's gone for a blob, a similarly rank shot to his first-innings departure, and a forlorn Test comes to an end. There was a slip and a silly point in place, so England were mounting the pressure, and he gave it away rather tamely 191/2
71.4 steered straight to slip - bump ball, I think. Root immediately threw the ball down, as if it had hurt him. Joel Wilson walks across and the umpires are going to check this. No, it's not a bump ball, straight off the outside edge! So obvious to Root, it seems, that he didn't bother to celebrate. So Kuldeep's lengthy stint as nightwatcher - his second-longest Test innings - comes to an end 258/4

8.2 hit on the pads, big appeal... and Dharmasena raises his finger after a long pause! Crawley will review but umpire's call is with India here. Height looked the biggest issue on first glance. What does ball-tracking say? Brushed the front pad and then hit the back leg, umpire's call on leg stump! Pretty marginal but the DRS backs up Kumar Dharmesena's on-field call and the teams will go off for tea with England two down. First time Bumrah has got Crawley in the series 18/2
6.1 fine fielding and glovework, Duckett runs himself out! India have their first wicket, and it goes down as a combination of batter error and some superb reactions from Dhruv Jurel. Duckett sold himself by racing halfway down the wicket without confirmation from his partner, he was a long way from safety as the throw from Siraj came in - but it needed Jurel to pull off a fantastic take on the move as he ran up to the stumps, then collapse and break the wicket, almost behind him and to his right as he went to ground 15/1
9.4 first slip, Rohit gets in on the action! Length ball on a fourth-stump line. Bit of turn away, and Pope tries to play the square cut. Thick edge flies to Rohit, who adjusts well to move to his left after an initial trigger movement to the right. The home team is ecstatic! 20/3
21.5 full ball on middle. Root goes for a sweep and misses! Ball pops up to Rohit at first slip. India appeal and given out! Out for LBW or caught? We don't know! What we do know is that Root has reviewed. Replay confirms this is a full ball on middle that Root missed sweeping. Spike when the ball passes the bottom of the bat, but the umpire says the spike is bat hitting the ground. So it will be an LBW if out, and he indeed is out! Ball is clipping the outside of off stump. Seventh time Jadeja has got Root out 50/5
11.1 misses the sweep, and umpire Wilson raises his finger! Bairstow is walking, then looks back for a second, and Root asks him to keep walking. Jadeja goes full on a stump to stump line. Bairstow misses the sweep, and this seems to be crashing into middle. Bairstow fails again, but this time without burning a review. Replay shows its clipping the outside of off stump. 28/4
22.5 full ball on leg stump. Stokes goes for a sweep and misses! Kuldeep appeals for LBW, on his knees, and umpire Dharmasena finally raises his finger. Stokes reviews. Pitching on leg and turning towards middle with Stokes missing the sweep. Question is, was there an edge? No. Second question, is it hitting the stumps? Yes it is! Crashing into leg stump. 50/6
35.5 feathers an edge behind, Foakes turns and walks! Jadeja does the job for his skipper straight away. Turning away as Foakes looked to cut, pretty big deflection off the edge in fact and Jurel continues his impressive debut by holding on. This goose is almost fully cooked 82/8
24.4 clobbered down the throat of long-on! Goes high down the ground but there was an immediate call of "catch!" Picks out Siraj a few yards in from the rope and that's another for Kuldeep. Rehan walks off for a duck, didn't get it out of the middle. India three wickets away 50/7

39.4 picks out long-off, that's it! Finally one of Wood's miscues goes to hand. Well held by Jaiswal running in, completes a thumping 434-run win for India - and Jadeja finishes with a five-for to go with his first-innings century! 122/10
