8.55pm: That's your lot from us tonight, but don't worry, we're barely 12 hours away from some more Hundred action. Join us for four more games tomorrow, the London derbies at Lord's and the Roses match McCoys-Popchips tussle at Headingley. Until then, thanks for your company.

Abell is speaking to Sky Sports: "Our bowling group have been phenomenal right through the competition... tonight was a big night. Adapted pretty well and executed well under pressure. [Root run-out] It wasn't an easy wicket to bat on and find any fluency. We felt we could make it really tricky but it's Joe Root and the control through his innings was phenomenal. We needed a bit of magic from Clarkey and he delivered it. [Tactics at Trent Bridge with short boundary?] You have to take the dimensions into account, but also the surface. It can be easy to get carried away... the way those two handled that at the end was amazing. We squeezed in the field... [Rashid Khan's struggles?] How you play their high-class spinners is an integral part... Jonny played an unbelievable knock. We played him really well today. [Bairstow?] It feels like he's got the bit between he's teeth... he's been desperate to perform for us. He's been brilliant for us, huge player for us and hopefully continues this form. [Low-scoring games?] We'd love to be striking at 200 but that's been a key part of this competition, how you adapt... we've not quite found a way but tonight we've done that and that will give us a huge boost, a lot of belief."

Bairstow is the Meerkat Hero: "We've had a couple of close ones, it's that kind of competition... it's bringing out different qualities in different players. The way that Abes captained there and was brave at times when he needed to be was awesome. [Turning point?] In the field, if you can get two run-outs, it's always pretty handy. Two wickets that the bowlers don't have to get. The fielding was exemplary. We had a couple of losses but everyone stayed level. We spoke about enjoying the challenge... getting into a dogfight. [Personal performance?] Very happy, even better when you're on the right side of a win. I'm striking it like I strike it. We'll see what happens."

8.43pm: That was a real thriller but the Rockets have had a horrendous few days. On Wednesday night, they needed 10 off 10 balls and lost by 6 runs to the Phoenix. Tonight, they needed 9 off 7 and lost by 4 runs to the Fire. Bairstow's 55 set it up, but the Fire were excellent in the field and with the ball, brilliantly led by Hussey and Abell. Rauf and Payne both outstanding at the death. A penny for Hain's thoughts... 22 not out off 26 balls, no boundaries and involved in two run-outs. He looked absolutely gutted at the end there.

Haris Rauf to Wood, no run, slower ball, inside-edged into the pad as he looks to swing leg-side, and Rockets have thrown away another run chase! Rauf roars in celebration, jumping in the air. Hain can't believe it. He looks utterly dejected. All smiles for the Fire who have burgled two points!

Hain has missed his chance at redemption. Can Luke Wood bail him out? Longer boundary is on the leg side for the left-hander. 4 to tie. 5 to win...

Haris Rauf to Hain, 1 bye, slips out as a high full toss... how high? Not high enough! Exactly the ball Hain would have wanted but the last one he was expecting... flies just over the top of leg stump as he shuffles across, looking to heave over midwicket. They sneak through for a bye...

6 off 2. It's all on Hain!

Haris Rauf to Hain, 2 runs, wide outside off stump, muscled out into the leg side with no timing... timed so badly that they can race back for the second!

8 off 3 is the requirement. Hain is yet to hit a boundary. He needs at least one now, and is facing Haris Rauf.

Haris Rauf to Wood, 1 run, stays leg-side of the length ball, nudges into the off side with an open face and jogs through to get Hain back on strike

9 from 4. Luke Wood. How are your nerves?!
